I Must Be Mad! Help Wanted
Not that bad really fellas. Those of you that have known me (and Toni) for a while will already know she went through a nasty time with cancer just over seven years ago (Burkitts Lymphoma to be precise). Burkitts is very rare and very aggressive, with reports of the tumours doubling in size in as little as 48 hours. Really nasty stuff. Anyway, she's all good now, but it's taken most of this time to get back to something resembling normal. We've been fund-raising for Cancer Research pretty much every year since with our anniversary bbq's and other events.

This is where I would ask you guys to chip in. We've both signed up for Cancer Research September 300.  The goal is to raise as much as we can in exchange for cycling 300 miles in September this year. We've only returned to cycling since the lockdown and while she has a nice new shiny thing (collected this week to replace the old bike), mine is a 25 year old steel framed old clunker. I've not been on a bike for over 20 years and in her case, we think over 40! If you could chip a few bob to help boost the coffers, I'd be really grateful and it literally might make a difference to someones life. Toni has committed to riding at least 100 miles and I'll be doing the rest.

If you promise to wear lycra and post a pic up, I'm in. Lol

Seriously though, I commend you both on rising to the challenge. :good:
I ain't no Lycra Lout! (I'll see what I can do, but you won't be able to unsee it)

Lol Ok, I'm in anyhoos.  :good:

Thanks Studders. Much appreciated :-)

I started riding my bike about two months ago after noticing my clothes were shrinking rapidly, I now do 12 - 15 miles every morning as soon as I get up, not the Tour de France I admit, but it’s become a bit of a routine now, and my clothes have got bigger! If a lazy git like me can do it anyone can, good luck you two!

The Master Engineer's widow has also seen this and she wants to chip in too, but to keep it all fair, she has sent it to Toni's link.

We already knew it, but you guys are all superstars. Thank you so much for your donations and support. Regarding the Lycra/no lycra requests, I may or may not be able so please some or all of you, but if we get to half a million, be prepared for a mountain bike riding Trevini in a Mankini!  :rotflmmfao:  :rotflmmfao:  :rotflmmfao:  :rotflmmfao:
