+1 for linkage strip & grease

Make sure spotty berk hasn't over-tightened the chain during PDI checks = 50 to 60mm slack - damage to output shaft/bearing/seal

Thanks for the heads up, I'll book a day on the weekend to look over all the popular threads on the topic and make some notes

noted the ones above

There's no Haynes manual for the 900 is there? I've already got that service manual pdf but I do always like a cheap physical manual to walk me through regular maintenance when out in the garage, any solutions for this?
The owners manual will help you with fettlin' the basics but other than printing off the service manual there's no haynes alternative to hand unfortunately.

You're welcome to ask any questions in the All About TDM section, usually get a pretty quick response there too. Smile
And there's some service guides in the knowledge base but alot of dead photo links again due to bucket of photos .com..... So needs tidying up!
Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.
Cheers, I'll print the manual off so I have a hard copy. Certainly cheaper than dropping a spanner on my tablet which is no doubt the way that would end!

The TDM arrived yesterday, but I was so busy I didn't get a chance to much more than look at it.

I really like it, and so manoeuvrable at slow speeds - I can't say I was expecting that at all

Off to find some country lanes tomorrow

Hi all, My name Dave but 99% of people just call me Dav, I'm in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire (some fantastic roads around here).. Baught my TDM900 Last September and must admit it's surprised the hell out of me considering I had a ZZR1100 before it and have already put nearly 4k miles on it since. I've been reading through some of the post and looking forward to some meet ups in the near future.. :good: [attachment=o10743]

Hi to everyone,

I’ve been in the shadows for a few mouths and thought it was about time I showed myself.

As you can see from my avatar I’ve got a 9 (08) pick it up in Sept last year, have to say the former keeper had looked after it well.

It had loads of the normal extras but I’ve added a satnav, USB output, daylights, optimate tail, vario screen, 6 fuse aux box and some panniers.

It’s not my primary transport now I’ve changed jobs, but I do ride 2 or 3 times a week.

This replaced a RT1100 (barge) that I used too dispatch on and I must say it’s far more comfortable and manageable than the RT even after a 400 miler, I can at least walk properly.

Looking on doing a lot of W/E stuff BSB,WSBK etc might even camp???

Hopefully I can contribute somehow and not become part of the “problem”

Site looks good and I’ve already used it for information and advice.

Cheers Chris
