Replaced rear brake disc as my micrometer found it to be 0.2mm under the service limit of 4.5mm at various places around the disc.

The new disc is a celticbiker made 6mm one skimmed down to 5.3mm (get a tad more life) by machining both sides parallel with disc running true in the lathe. Thanks Celtic :clapping:

Does this mean we have an alternative to OEM discs?

Test loaded camping gear for 4-5 trip through Rocky Mountains of Idaho. Ortlieb soft panniers, and top bag is a big unit that goes with my B.O.B bicycle trailer. Weather to be hot with chance of thunderstorms.

Tire pressures set, oil topped up, rear suspension set to Firm, pulse and respiration rate: elevated. Am really stoked about this trip. First big trip since my off in March that busted me ribs.

With the look of that seat you have you would be good for a full day in the saddle ! Seat envy is setting in, is this a custom job or can anyone get one ?
It's a http://www.topsellerie.co.uk seat, not cheap if you add options but it's great, mine is the low and back option and I'd rate it 8/10 for a whole days ride comfort, 10/10 for quality, this one has their own base but you can send your own to be remade, it's a faff if you have to send yours of so I just ordered it complete and if I sell later on. I have the old one, for me it's much better than the firm wide and flat standard seat and yes a day on the bikes no problem, it has a gel for the rider and tbh I think you'd have to go some to better it, some of the guys on here whole travel world wide etc have used extreme options like sheep skins etc, others have cheaper uk made seats that I am told are excellent too, search and I'm sure you will find them. Smile

Oh forgot to say check the bargains section of the site they sell some off check at times.

I've toured with a big sheepskin thrown over the seat and piled up under my bum and it just don't work for me. It does get lots of looks though. I think I need to try a gel.

I'll bring my air hawk to Adam's g2g for you to try, only thing that works for me, having the seat gelled didn't! You need to have hardly any air in it for it to work properly.

The whole process was pretty painless and i learnt a thing or two as well which was great.

As soon as she sucked some fuel in and warmed up she sounded great - like a different bike!! Wow!! She sounds so lovely ticking over, great throttle response too... Before it seemed to take a second to catch up...

Took her for a ride and she feels so sharp...Chuffed to bits and pieces :clapping: I am especially looking forward to the improvement in fuel consumption Cloud9

I think i am so shocked at the difference in how she was running before and now...

Never take life seriously. No one gets out alive anyway

After 4 weeks I finally got my Blue Lovely Mk2a running again. On advice from here I bought a new Yuasa battery and I bought a new OEM starter solenoid and neither solved the problem. So I spent hours undoing every connector on the wiring loom, cleaning the spades, marking with a felt tip and moving on until finally I found a properly corroded one. It was a two wire connector and the spade in the male side was so corroded it could not be saved so I did a temporary job with a regular spade into the female side. Result. So, if anybody wants a used, but tested good, starter solenoid it's yours for the cost of postage and I have to search for a replacement connector to bring the electrics back to spec. I reckon I've earned my wine tonight!

Edit. Don't believe the wiring diagrams in the HBOL. They have their own colour coding and this wasted a lot of time before I looked at the Yam one.
