Two - up with full luggage, leaving the town towards the M9, pulling in to the layby. Colour grey or dark silver.

Approx 1:20 to 1:25 pm.

I was going the other way in a car.

Do they still hold an annual jousting event there Steve ?

Yes

This year 2023 on 1 & 2 July - so done this year.

My granddaughter went this year & last with parents / grandparents respectively using Historic Scotland membership.

We all thoroughly enjoyed it - she especially since she does riding lessons. The "village" of olde activities/skills/equipment is fascinating to the adults. Lotsa side events for kids too.

Recommended.

Unfortunately the Palace is still closed to the public a/w refurbishments.
