Vale was absolutely wiping the floor with everyone. He did a fantastic passing move on Pedrosa at the La Chapelle corner where Nanook and I were watching - a steep fast downhill into a 180 degree turn. Not one other rider managed a similar move on that corner. Vale went on to take seconds out of Pedrosa every lap until Vale's f***ing M1 broke. What the hell are Yamaha up to?

Are Yamaha bigwigs continuing the "chatter" problem to force Vale into signing again allowing him go out on a high?(Conspiracy Theories-R-US)

But it makes for a more interesting season seeing Rossi fight back. And you know he can, and will. Rossi likes a challenge, he wouldn't have moved to Yamaha if he didn't. There was talk a couple of years ago about Rossi running in both 250's and MotoGP just to give him a bigger challenge, but Yamaha couldn't come up with a competitive 250.
