don't think they were too big, as photo's only 700kb each roughly and there 1.95MB space available non? [Image: doubtfull.gif]

I resorted to PB with the MerseyMeet photoset, for similar reasons.

Hi Dappers. Not to barge in, I hope, but I have another question. My attachment allocation (1.95 mb) seems to have been long since used up over my admittedly large number of postings. I've cleared one or two old ones (which means of course that some old links will no longer work), but can anything else be done without interfering with the "archive"?

Since our host is not charging us a single cent for serverspace or servertime I dont want to abuse by loading up the servers harddrives and sucking up its time.
Best to use FREE online image hosters if you are gonna post lots of images.

however
when the long -VERY VERY LONG- awaited <b>content management system </b>(<b>CMS</b>) will finally lift its arse out of beta stage there will be a big change comming to Carpe.
the content currently in the Knowledgebase and spread all over the posts in All about will be copied and categorized into this CMS, at which time the images will also be copied and you can remove them from your allowed space.
From then on the valuable posts and images will be IMMEDIATELY put into the CMS and your allowed diskspace will be reset.
Yeah wot he said!!!

Will CMS also put a stop to technical posts having photos missing, cos people have used www.bucketsofphotos.com or whatever and long since replaced the picture of a rare TDM non oil burning widget with a picture of their cat? I hope so.

aye it will solve that...

in the meanwhile
you can save the image on yer desktop
then edit the file (as moderator) and upload it on the server

ill set it so non staff can do that in the Knowledgebase.
EDIT: apparently i already set it that way.
so if a post gets moved to teh Knowledgebase the writer or a moderator can upload the images to the server
regardless wether that member is Supporting Member or not.
