Signing In

.....Ive been around here for quite a while and, up till recently, have always been able to visit by simply

tapping the Carpe icon on my desktop (iPad home page)......but over the last little while I am being told that I am not allowed access and am asked to open an account / sign in with a password.......

Whats changed on here ?.....or, alternatively, is it anything to do with updates to my ios?.....any other suggestions ?

......grateful, as ever, for any informed input........

Hi Jiff, no changes here in the past few years tbh.  There might be a clicky box for remembering you that needs clicking when you sign in.

If ya can send screenshots or summat of what the problemo is we might be able to guess with thee.

I gave up on the "remember me" long time ago - works on some computers/browsers, not on others... never found out what's the key...

.......as per my previous post to ‘Admin’



the Carpe (non)icon on my iPad homescreen has always given me direct accesses to the site, but over the last week or so, I am now refused entry, & told to sign in with a password.......irritatingly laborious (no, I’m not really grumpy.....honest !)

(note; in the first image my username does not appear in the top right hand corner,

as it always had previously - does that imply that the ‘remember me’ button is not working ?.....even though it is illuminated.....I have unticked it, & re-ticked it, to no avail)

.........any ideas?

took 3 screenshots showing what confronts me now, when I try to visit......copied them & tried to post here

but when trying to ‘paste’ in this space.......just showed up as 3 x. ‘nul’

Do you have a non i-doodah you can try?



You normally have to attach images, don't think a copy/paste will work as they need a host.

.......this is my nth attempt.......hope these three screenshots make it through the ether.....

and help someone find me a way to resolve my problem ( no, not that one!...this one)

- hopefully someone who understands iPads, maybe.... cos thats my only way to do it

Possible that you have your browser set to either clear cookies on exit or block them at all times (private browsing session, etc). A cookie is required to remember login details.

......thanks Studley......you invariably manage to rescue me from the morass of incomprehension !



.....and though the info contained in that link is fairly uninformative, it helped me to the following solution

- which (for anyone else who finds themselves repeatedly ‘un-remembered’ / denied access) deciphers as;



this is to do with privacy settings between your machine and the website....which involves the saving / not

of ‘cookies’ which info allows / doesn’t allow you to be recognised



go to the top right hand corner of the page on this (or most other) websites

you will see an icon like two overlapping squares... tap it

if you are having ‘being recognised’ problems, you will then see ‘private’ in black type in a white rectangle....tap it

lt will ‘reverse out’.....to ‘private’ in white type against darker background....should be problem solved!



phew!......if I haven’t got it quite right, someone will doubtless dot the ‘i’s & + the ‘t’s.......Jiff.
