Well well well..... after years of smugly reading other owners woes of the famous warping thermostat housing, mine has started to ejaculate itself. I know they're as rare as truthful politician but would anyone be able to point me in the direction of where I might be able to locate a good one?
Ewe can normally sealant up the lid (and treat to a new o-ring if you feel like it), especially if its only just started to banana. Just replacing the o-ring won't do oubt useful.
Think I fitted a 4TX thermo..or 4TX lid or summat. Was a bit of modding but the job was a carrot.
Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.
4tx lid is what I've got on at the mo. The original one was really warped.i presume you can't get those lids new anywhere. I've seen a photo of an XJ6 lid and it looks similar but dunno if I'd risk ordering on a hunch.
I also made a clamping bracket that worked until the lid distortion got real bad. It is a terrible design.
Yamaha sell the housing i think... not the lid!!

Just put the cmsnl on the basket and with delivery it adds up to 83 euros! I may have found one here in Spain, wish me luck otherwise its's hide the bank statement from the SWIMBO. Â
