Not sure how it works, if its just a resister or PWM but at that price if you are looking for cheap then this looks like it.

Thats about what I set my controller, Full on or just over half.

i really should have made one of these years ago. There was a slight frost this morning when I left home but an hour later I arrived at work toasty. [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wub.gif[/img] Wasn't so keen on the stretch of sheet ice with a car in the ditch just down the road from work though [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif[/img]

I bought one of the motor controllers Endo linked above, which I picked up from the post office this morning, so a bit more tinkering is due this weekend. Still not decided if I should stick with the potentiometer or go for a High-Low-Off switch.

Just off the top of my head. What about a dimmer switch from a house light.... or a volume switch from a PA/Radio system or a slider rahter than a twisty knob.......

I am thinking about making an arduino controlled multiple channel pwm controller for just this sort of thing (infinite adjustability on temperature/brightness for bike appliances up to around 50 watts. Maybe four channels? I am in the process of getting ready for the cold winter here, and I am planning to commute for as much of the winter as possible on the bike. I am going to do heated grips/probably some kind of homebrew heated jacket. As electronics are one of my hobbies I am going to throw together a pcb and probably get a few of them made.

Would there be any interest on here for one? If I get one pcb made, I could just as easily get ten made. PM me if interested.

The tape's quite a lot more expensive than using wire (about £6/meter), but a lot more flexible.
