Safety When Working On Bikes On Centre Stands
Putting a back wheel in a Benelli today on my own, where the centre stand only just goes over centre, which could be dangerous.

I strapped the middle bar of the centre stand to front wheel with a ratchet strap, as it would be easy to push the bike off the stand putting wheels and things in.

On my Abba stand I like to use both arms of the font wheel lift attachment as it provides extra stability even if you are not lifting front wheel. I use a block of wood under the rear facing arm.
Which Benelli Ian ?  old wan ? or one of the new Chinese wans >

<p> Now Sold 😔......850 MK2A 4TX6 in Silver, Stainless steel hand rolled slip on end can, stainless 2into1 headers, K&N air filter, Hagon progressive front springs, Gdogg modified rear shock, Else Made "Ridgeback" Gel Seat, Gdogg under seat fender extender, Powrspark leads, Carbon fiber effect vinyl wrap fairing decals & logos, Michelin Pilot Road2's, V-Strom hand guards, Givi monorack & box (colour matched side rails).
one of the TRK502 newer ones. made in China. Quality is reasonable.

Feels heavy for the size of bike. In this case, rear wheel bearings had gone.

They are only sealed one side. The threads and bolts are not the best, fairly standard engineering, but this funny rear guard holder arm caused trouble. Rear swinger is steel.

It runs well the owner says, he has forded rivers with it ok. Looks like a knock off of the earlier CB500 engine. Castings are surprisingly good. £4999 new. With a bit of sorting i.e. chucking most of the fasteners in the bin, it could be a cheap adventure bike only got 47 hp. though. Chinese are catching up the Japs, using European designers and CNC machining.

Personally I think the lighter and less to no plastics RE Himalayan is a better bet off road for £1000 less.
