RogerD,

I thank you for the reply and info.. I've been on granddad duty so have not yet read your links.

However, your answer still leaves open the possibility that a Class 1 rider headset could talk to a Class 2 unit such as the £7 subject of this thread for rider to pillion, and maybe even support a two-way link.

I know that full-fat BT comms systems tend to only talk to their own breed, but Sena and others are now promising universal compatibility with other brands, so linking a Sena to this item seems still to be a maybe.

I'll get reading tomorrow.

Again, thank you.

CBX750FE in reserve; Cagiva N90 125 now rebuilt & in use.
The limit is the lower power headset. The 2 need to "shake hands" for want of a simple explanation to allow any communication. Once one is out of range, its over.

In terms of different makes:

Bluetooth is a global standard and so in reality all headsets/ audio sources should talk to each other, (given the ability to make 2 way dialog as above)....unless the maker decides otherwise and does something which is just enough to make it "special"....and thereby is the issue so many people report.

I too just want SatNav instructions from my phone, and possibly some music occasionally. At £7 I've just ordered a pair - but modifying fitment to standard ear plugs is a bloomin' genius idea! Cheers!
