New Rings A Gogo !
Original blog: Studley's Bloggerydoodaah

[b]Finally got the other cylinders honed and fitted, together with new piston rings. SmileFound that the old rings were totally shot Rolleyes The end gap specs were double the maximum gap. Wink I'll be taking the old barrels to get them measured in the next week or so, be interesting to know if they have any excessive wear to 'em.I'm fast running out of photo space on Flickr so it looks like I'll be winding up my bloggerydoodaah soon SadHad a problem with a head gasket I bought from Wemoto Sunshine It was utter shoite tbh. Here's a comparison of it and a Yamaha wanShoitey Wemoto wan ![Image: 6992404971_eea45d4d6f_b.jpg]Yummy Yammy wan ![Image: 7003096499_e83d37a01e_b.jpg]Had to strip the top end down twice to find the cause of the leak, I'd used a Wemoto one before and it didn't give me any problem at all. Pity really as the Wemoto wan is £25 less than the Yammy. Hey ho ![b]Wemoto were kind enough to offer me a full credit and I didn't have to return the gasket so I didn't lose out financially Rolleyes I've been ferra few short runs so far, about 40 miles. Another 20 mile blast should have the rings bedded in then I can start measuring my MP LOO. I'm hoping it's gonna be ABSOLUTELY MAHOOOOOSSIVE Big Grin[b]Engine pulls really strong and no 'orrible noises appeared yet. Kept it to around 5000rpm max up to now.[b]Also need to check/balance the carbs.
Hoorah for high MPLOO. That Weemoto gasket looks complete crap. You are far more tolerant than oi, would not be impressed squashing a new base gasket (specially a Yamaha one) and risking water/oil mix and the labour involved in installation/destallation....and then re-installation. I know which "sealing surface" the "credit note" woulda gone up. Smile
