900 Air Box Mod....fantastic!
Put it back Rob and see if it solves your problem, could be just coincidence, there's a good guide on here to freeing up the cold start and it's easy to do..dont know that the csm has electrics involved....sure it's just a wax plunger type.

There are no electronics in the cold start mechanism - purely a wax plunger pushing the bar to the plungers

FANTASTIC!! [Image: yahoo.gif] What a result [Image: tup.gif]

The on/off low speed throttle response has all but gone, bottom end torque has increased and the engine is just so much more usable between 2000 and 3000 rpm. Fantastic...it feels like a new bike!!

If you've gotta 900 and haven't carried out option 1 referenced in the link above....do it....you won't be sorry [Image: laugh.gif][Image: laugh.gif][Image: laugh.gif]

However, I've replaced the link in the first post with this http://tdm-yamaha.890m.com/index.php?page=AIR  So should work now.

I've just done the mod (pin 8 removal). Brilliant! A lot smoother pick up at low revs.

Links is not working. Want to do this mod. Does anyone have pictures of the hose ?

I just clicked on the link above and it's worked for me.

The pipe is the one into the actuator ( the round metal thing ) on top of the airbox. Lift the tank and its obvious.. I blocked the pipe with a suitable bolt.

The alternative would be to pull pin 8 out of the ECU.You don't need to do both.
