Thank you muchly.... Hope there is something on DirecTV (satellite)
edit: Does not look promising.
"Team Dakar USA announced today the acquisition of the United States broadcast rights for the Central Dakar Rally.
DIRECTV will air a daily half-hour show on channel 101, the in-house channel available throughout the United States on the satellite television service. The show airs April 19-26 featuring 13 minutes of overall rally coverage plus nine minutes dedicated to the American efforts of Team Dakar USA."
13 minutes of Rally coverage?????? 13!!
It's a 2 week rally.

Don't want to spoil it for you but...Sad news about a spectator that got killed when a buggy went off into the crowd and a few people got hurt and one of them later died in hospital.

I certainly hope so... I just sent off an email to directtv re: No Dakar coverage, no 24 Hours of LeMans,
no Monaco GP, no WSB, no FIM.... etc...
We do get coverage of 'mud-bogging'... WTF?

Also worth keeping an eye on Tamsin Jones, Brit rider hoping to be the youngest woman to finish the Rally. Her Website is HERE and her blog is worth a read. She is riding with number 131 so using the tracking option on the Dakar site you can monitor her daily stage & check point times.
She completed stage 5 yesterday after 13 hours in the saddle, you go girl.

Thrilling and controversial climax to the Dakar. Coma has been punished twice for infringements, but yesterday won an appeal following an incident with a policeman who closed the wrong road and sent the first 10 riders the wrong way. The coverage on Eurosport has been fantastic. There's some stunning photos here.
