I'd recommend Orange as the coverage has been good and the customer help has been excellent.
Check their webshites and enter the area you most need the phone to work in. Find the one with the best coverage/price combo.

I only have one that works here, maybe its not so critical where you are.

When looking at contracts, moneysavingsexpert is the badger. I got a £35/month contract for less than the £25/month contract with free unlimited interweb, unlimited texts and 1000mins/month.

Good luck.
Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.
I have been with 3 for years and cant fault the coverage. Even when i go to europe it changes automatically and i have never had any problems.

I have also had a good signal driving round most of Scotland, including the islands.
Over the last 12 years I've been with Vodafone, Tesco and O2 and they have all be really good.

I've only haven't been able to a signal in one spot on the North Norfolk Coast but it's been the same with all three.
My Super Modded TDM has gone to a new home Sad

I'm now a carbon whore!

I've been on Orange for years and have used it all over the place with no real problems. The north west and this part of Lancs / Merseyside seems fine. Only place I've sometimes struggled for a signal is in the Lakes - but I think they are all like that.

Dappers advice is the best (check the coverage data) currently tmobile is working the best for me (and its cheap) there are loads of web deals out there that are usually better than the shop deals, as in a lot of web deals give unlocked phones rather than branded and locked ones.

one company i have used recently is www.mobilephonesdirect.com cheap prices and good packages on the latest greatest handsets.

p.s. in april orange and t-mobile merge, so "if" they share their networks then it should be even greater coverage
