When for example the ticken token is activated the side light (thats not on the side) very slightly dims. Any ideas of how to remedy please?

It's not the rectumfrier.

Front sidelight I assume? I'd go through all connections up from and make sure they are clean including any ring terminals connected to the frame.

Them sympletoms  might hint at low voltage when indicators are on, meaning a low battery, or failing alternator ?

Have you checked the battery voltage at idle ? If that's okay then it might be a poor connection to the sidelight.

If it's an LED replacement sidelight then it shouldn't change so much as it would with an old incandescent bulb, but, that circuit also powers the rear red marker light so if they're both incandescent, and assuming they're both incandescent, 4W each, then together they're drawing over half an amp of current in total so a dodgy connector might be the problem if the voltage test at idle shows over 13 volts.

It's definitely worth opening and reseating all the multiplugs at the front end at some point anyway
