Away from my Yamaha’s…

I mess with my cars, go fishing, do (mostly) what my lovely Jules tells me, actor, writer, set design and build, seeing eye human for a blind dog.

😁

I have too many hobbies, motorcycles x3, drones, e bikes, then got into making bits for other peoples old bikes, really old tractors and old cars, because they find out I have a lathe and miller. Never a dull moment.

Funny this should pop up. I've let my free time fun slide drastically the last couple of years, the rona has not helped.

So, I've made a deal with myself to make time and get off my skinny arse this summer and back into my hobbies.

Gonna see if I can still hold my breath and go spearfishing, if not or as well, the salt water fly fishing will be back. No troots round here... More hard enduro and trials riding to keep my pain threshold up and show off purple bruises.

I'm also setting up a hobby business restoring and sharpening knives. Dunno why but it's very relaxing and Zen like.

A strange compulsion to get an electric unicycle is on my Christmas list. I must love pain!

I had a unicycle last year, probably not the best idea at 60 with crumbling hips and 3 damaged discs.

cycling road and gravel), running, swimming and scout leader, so camping and loads of youth activities.

Apart from my two bikes, I have a bit of a camera collection, modern digital mostly, currently being thinned out via ebay.

Microcontroller programming which I started to do when I built a 'nixie clock' for my dad's retirement present. I still make one-off clocks to order when time allows(!), and in recent years I've worked with programmable led lighting devices.

I cook a fair bit (college trained chef and later cookery teacher, before returning to engineering), and we have a couple of dogs that keep us fit

No way Jimmy Carr could say that.

I learned to unicycle at clown school many moons ago. Used to go and do my shopping on one.

Harvey, so that's why you can wheelie your bike for miles

I'm getting boring in my old age.  Have a long list of previous hobbies (jui-jitsu, fencing, gliding, diving, hiking, riding...) but these days not doing a lot beyond a bit of running, although I am quite involved with my local parkrun.

I was planning on having a go at kite boarding having moved near the beach, but did my back in a while ago so not sure that's a great idea until it's back to full strength.  My little 1.8 meter kite can drag me along the beach, and those guys are using 10+ meter ones.  Still have a few bits of DIY to do though having moved house earlier in the year.

Re Cubs and Scouts above, if it's something that interests you they're often crying out for volunteers.  My Mrs used help out with DofE and when we moved to somewhere that doesn't have that, looked at the local scout group...and got snapped up pretty quickly to run thier Beavers <insert Frank Drebin joke here...>.

No time for hobbies bar the motorbike and that becomes less each year it seems, previously used to sail a lot, canoe and the odd day white water rafting, race around a 36 kilometre lake on mountain bikes and hiking, in the winter went skiing Monday through Friday, since returning to blighty and working nights never seem to have the time for much. However i think for my new hobbie i'm going to become a porn star.
