Getting The Spare Barrels Measured - Studley Ramrod - 09-01-2012 Original blog: Studley's Bloggerydoodaah [b]Blimey, it's been a while since I last entered any updates. Anyhoos, today I dropped off the spare cylinder barrels I acquired from the Prof and have asked them to measure the bores whilst wearing their blue overalls. They have agreed and will phone me within the next 24hrs with the measurements.I've changed the engineering company I use and although further from me, I'm more confident in using these guyshttp://www.stanwoodengineering.co.uk/If the barrels are within spec I'll get them honed and then fit 'em along with new piston rings, I'll also get the pistons & pins measured before I refit/replace them.[b]If the barrels are way over spec then I'm undecided in what I'd do. I'm not keen on getting them overbored after hearing about the potential for warpage of the liners due to them being on the thin side. I might see about fitting some 9'er barrels although it could be expensive.[b]Gonna have a ferrit about and see if there's any more info about the 850 liners being thin. I roughly measured 'em at 2.5mm but don't have a comparison with any other liner thickness's.Hey Ho !
