Still Rebuilding - Studley Ramrod - 17-01-2011 Original blog: Studley's Bloggerydoodaah Since slapping me two halves back togeva, I've put the balancer shafts back in, making sure everthing lined up. Again, it's simple enough to do and I just followed the Haynes destructions [b]Obviously the water pump drive wheel needs to be in place before the balancers go in. It was during this time that I realised I'd commitet-ed a cardinal bike fettlers sin After hearing the haunting clunk clunk sound of my conrods getting intimate with my casing I realised I'd not replaced the protective foam I'd put there earlier. No surprise, to me, then, that my initial reacton to this resulted in the said conrods eloping to the opposite side of the casing, whereupon their relationship resumed [b]Foam is my friend !Nothing too serious, a small file will cure the problem no doubt. I'm aware of the likelyhood of ending up with filings in me box so I'll be extra careful in preventing this happening. Sheeeeesh !As I mentioned previously, the water pump drive wheel can be put in position before or after the casings are joined. Here's a piccy to confirm this.Next up on dee agender iiiiis, prepping an painting the top end and also making a start on cleaning up the grotty looking bike frame an stuff.
