Mixing parts? - tdm850rider - 19-03-2006 Specifically.... Will a mark 2 fairing/fearing bolt onto a mk1? Do love the curvaceous lines of the mark 2 fairing! Mixing parts? - dapleb - 19-03-2006 There are lots of parts that will switch, the fairing prolly aint one of emm....the tank is a diff shape, so the side fairings are too....and prolly the front fairing....of course you could make it fit but I would doubt that its a straight swap. Boop dapleb<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> Oh boo.. That means I would have to change the tank too? It's getting complicated. Mixing parts? - Guest - 19-03-2006 I know a few Americans who'd really be interested in a tdm900, I'm sure there'd be a profit to be made bringing a few over in a crate! Or maybe not, but It'd be worth lookin into for someone over there who wants one. Mixing parts? - stevepsd - 19-03-2006 I'd buy a TDM900 in a heartbeat if I could get one here in the US.....but better yet would be the rumored about TDM 1000! All we get over here is all this 'Cruiser Crap' Suzuki has even stopped importing the Bandit this year -steve Mixing parts? - Guest - 19-03-2006 <!--quoteo(post=321:date=Sun 19th Mar 2006, 08:35 PM:name=stevepsd)-->QUOTE(stevepsd @ Sun 19th Mar 2006, 08:35 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->All we get over here is all this 'Cruiser Crap' -steve<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> Even sports bikes seem to be dressed up in too much chrome on your side of the pond I know a guy who used to make money importing Harley's and buells from there to here(when they were harder to get), no reason you couldn't do it the other way. Do they have Mk2s or 900s in Canada? I have a platinum card I'll wear my jacket with the big red maple leaf on the back, gotta play to the crowd... Mixing parts? - stevepsd - 20-03-2006 Canada only had the '92 & '93 TDM's just like us in the USA I think it would be almost impossible to import a TDM900 into the US, especially in California - as they have to be inspected by Customs and be certified they meet all applicable US Federal safety regs (DOT marked lights, etc) plus the mfg has to certify that the bike meets emissions standards. I think that the only excpetion is if you active-duty military stationed overseas and bring one back. |
