GSXR1000 frames cracking up...... - Readmarx - 08-06-2006

Just been reading about hat on another site. Considering the frames are designed/manufactured to be homologated for BSB/WSB/AMA I'd have thought it's a casting/batch production error? Didn't read the whole article, but if it happened in the US the litigation could sink Suzuki unless the rider's a giant bloater?

GSXR1000 frames cracking up...... - wicklamulla - 09-06-2006

i pulled it off........the souperten site Ready, watch the vid, it happened it the US and he's not particularily FAT.

GSXR1000 frames cracking up...... - Readmarx - 10-06-2006

Watched the vid... something's suspect there. He was doing "20mph" yet the bike gouges the road (US "pavement" [Image: rolleyes.gif] ) and him and the bike end up 40 yds away on someone's lawn. Suzuki offered to repair the damage which was good of them, but refused the medical bills because it'll no doubt set a precedent for larger claims. I think it's a one off IMHO.

GSXR1000 frames cracking up...... - wicklamulla - 10-06-2006

ya i thought his estimated speed was a tad low considering he and the bike were thrown so far into the neighbours yard. prolly popping a wheelie and slammed the front down to hard.............

GSXR1000 frames cracking up...... - Readmarx - 11-06-2006

Would've had to launch himself off of a ramp to provide that much force. Hitting potholes/drain covers at 160mph plus as they do racing TT/NW200 would put a lot more shock/force into the frame than a ham fisted wheelying Yankee. I think he fell off a ladder whilst spying on next doors teeny daughter in the shower [Image: yeahyeahyeah.gif] and made the whole thing up to get his medical bills paid.

GSXR1000 frames cracking up...... - wicklamulla - 11-06-2006

lol that sounds plausible !

Looking at his old man why doesn't the young lad grow his hair long before it falls out. Oh and I think he's a lying bassard.

Anyway, there's a 'i' in aluminium so how can it be alloominum [Image: rolleyes.gif]

It was once called Aluminum, which is pretty much how Americans pronounce it, and prior to that it was called Alumium but it's been Aluminium for about the last 200 years, something to do with lots of other elements ending in "ium". It just seems our American friends are just a bit behind the times. Prehaps that explains why you can only get Mk1's in the US [Image: biggrin.gif]

God I learned some crap at uni.

GSXR1000 frames cracking up...... - Readmarx - 12-06-2006

Surely there must be a UN resolution about correct spellings? I know that an EU directive is seeking to format European languages so that they can be uniformly translated. So why does my US spell check always insist on adding a 'z' instead of an 's' ?

UK spelling: aluminium.
US spelling: aluminum.

Thats why we say A-lu-min-um
and you say Al-u-mini-um.

But we do pronounce colour the same even though we spell it color.

And you recently stated that English is your official language. Would you like to renew your dictionaries? [Image: smile.gif]

Two countries seperated by a common language.

Official Language is just the recent conservative/Bush crapola... We don't have an 'official' language

WHY CAN'T THE ENGLISH?
From "My Fair Lady"

HIGGINS
Look at her: a prisoner of the gutters,
Condemned by every syllable she utters,
By right she should be taken out and hung,
For the cold-blooded murder of the English tongue.
ELIZA
Ah-ah-aw-aw-oo-oo!
HIGGINS
"Ah-ah-aw-aw-oo-oo" Heavens! what a sound!
HIGGINS
This is what the British population,
Calls an elementary education.
PICKERING
Come, sir; I think you picked a poor example.
HIGGINS
Did I...?
HIGGINS
Hear them down in Soho Square,
Dropping "h"s everywhere,
Speaking English anyway they like.
You sir: did you go to school?
A BYSTANDER
What d'ya tike me faw, a fool?
HIGGINS
Well, no one taught him "take" instead if "tike".
Hear a Yorkshireman, or worse,
Hear a Cornishman converse;
They'd rather hear a choir singing flat.
Chickens, cackling in a barn;
Just like this one.
ELIZA
Garn!
HIGGINS
"Garn"-I ask you, sir: what sort of word is that?
HIGGINS
It's "ow" and "garn" that keep her in her place,
Not her wretched clothes and dirty face.
Why can't the English teach their children how to speak?
This verbal class distinction, by now, should be antique.
If you spoke as she does, sir, instead of the way you do,
Why you might be selling flowers too.
PICKERING
I beg your pardon.
HIGGINS
An Englishman's way of speaking absolutely classifies him.
The moment he talks, he makes some other Englishman despise him.
One common language I'm afraid we'll never get.
Oh why can't the English learn to-
Set a good example to people, who's English, is painful to your ears.
The Scotch and the Irish leave you close to tears!
There are even places where English completely disappears,
Why, in America they haven't used it for years.
Why can't the English teach their children how to speak?
Norwegians learn Norwegian; the Greeks are taught their Greek.
In France every Frenchman knows his language from "A" to "Zed"-
But the French don't care what they do, actually, so long as they
pronounce it properly.
Arabians learn Arabian with the speed of summer lightning.
The Hebrews learn it backwards which is absolutely frightening.
Use proper English, you're regarded as a freak.
Oh why can't the English-
Why can't the English learn to speak?
