i was thinking of a simple (1 or max 2 color) logo
no gradients, so its easier to use for stickers

one option would be
the tdm silhouet (like the forum logo) with the name going around it (bikkembergs (sp?) rip off)

or something more "tribal" would be nice
as long as its EASELY recognisable

I think the top left logo with boike looks monkey (though I dunno how many colours that is). I am an artist but it doesn't involve graphics or anything with skill, and no its not con.

a mate of mine is a graphics bloke for a glossy magazine (no wicky&jason, not that kind of mag), something to do with boats, but he does adverts and stuff.

I can ask him if you want ?

any preference on what colours and what size?

any graphical artists amongst us? - Daveb - 15-06-2006

do we need the full web address, as www.carpe-tdm.net takes us to the old site?

I have designed commercial logos and things before (and I'm a marketing bloke) so I don't mind adding my tenpenneth worth. Frankly I would use the KISS (Keep it Simple Stupid) principle and not bother trying to create anything new when the site already has quite an attractive design .

I think combining Guiness' and DaveB's ideas could work - keep the round shape and wording from guiness and add Dave's "Carpe TDM" bit in the middle (loose the bike altogether) - I'm of the opinion that shadow always looks a bit naff though, and is difficult to get right in stickers...

any graphical artists amongst us? - Guinness - 15-06-2006

wasnt liking the first one
last time i made the tshirt with just text i got the remark of people not knowing what its about
hence i'ld like to see a reference to the bike

the yamaha logo ... tricky ... but gives me an idea

edit:

i'ld like to see that with JUST the vertical fork goig thru it

any graphical artists amongst us? - Daveb - 15-06-2006

What is the common feature between all the models MKI, MKII and 900's? is it only the yamaha logo and the positive gearbox?

any graphical artists amongst us? - Guinness - 15-06-2006

two cylinder, ten valves, yamaha, dual headlights, yamaha
problem : so is the tenere ...

here's one with the vertical fork

im liking this one ...

duotone (= cheap)
recognisable motorcycle related
shouldnt be too hard to lazercut if big enuff

any graphical artists amongst us? - Daveb - 15-06-2006

looks a bit painfull or is it a thin rider, Mr G how about the 3 forks in middle, bike on opposite sides riding around clockwise between top and bottom text?
