1992 TDM FS - joeb83 - 26-06-2006
I have decided to sell my 1992 TDM. Currently a bit over 13k miles. LOTS of farkles including:
Dual Fiamm Horns with relay installed
Standard shield plus tall smoke shield
Yamaha factory heated grips (rescued from my 2003 FJR)
Crash Bars
Throttlemeister
Original Bar ends (replaced with Throttlemeister - currently not installed)
Hand guards (imported from Germany)
Ventura Pack rack system (includes low rail, sport rack, tall rack, small tail pack)
Dual Sylvania Silverstar 55/60 watt bulbs
Voltage/Battery Monitor LED
Performance exhaust system (I forget what kind, I am not using it as I prefer the "stealth" approach of the stock system)
Carbs were 100% redone (all o rings, slides, emulsion tubes, etc) including new rubber intake hoses just under 13k miles. Also, battery replaced Spring of 05, new Avon AV45/46 this Spring (less than 500 miles on these). Fresh oil change and filter with synthetic BMW synthetic MC oil.
Bike runs GREAT!!!
Now for the warts:
There are small rub spots on the crease of the front fairing where a previous owner did something stupid with tie downs.
The passenger grab handle has some deep scratches on one side where said previous dumb owner had a bungee hook fastened. I have purchased two additional grab handles on ebay, both of which were damaged before I received them (must be LOTS of stupid owners in the US).
Otherwise, paint is excellent. I also have a bash plate which I obtained but never refinished or installed - no mounting hardware for this, just the plate.
I am raising cash to purchase a GS for a planned return to Alaska next year - my K1200LT is not the best bike for heading up the haul road.......
