Orthokeratology......... - nitram - 04-08-2006 I'm not sure how many people here wear glasses / contact lenses, if you do and have been thinking about Laser Surgery but are a little worried about the procedure messing up their eyes then OrthoK may well be the thing for you. The main difference is that if a tooth position is corrected for some months it will stay in the new position. However the Cornea is highly elastic, and always returns to its original shape. My OrthoK Blog Oh the most important info is the price: Initial Consultation : £50 First pair of lenses : £100 Monthly cost : £35 The monthly cost includes all further lenses, fluids and consultations. Lenses may need to be replaced on a 3-6 monthly basis. Lenses may need to be replaced on a 3-6 monthly basis.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> i used to wear glasses or one day contact lenses and i considered laser surgey. but i switched to night and day contact lenses which have been great for me. you get 1 set a month at a cost of £25 a month, you can wear them continuously but should remove them for 4hours a week. i must admit i rarely remove them except to change them each month. there is virtually no fogging which occurs with some lenses (except after a 48hour bender when i'm a little dehydrated) and the optitions i'm with does free 6monthly check ups (or sooner if you want) and lenses are all sent by post. i often forget i'm wearing the lenses, its like having normal eyes again
