Al<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> that sidecar that looked like a knackered coffin was soo odd.you rarely see things like that over here maybe the odd rat bike.even when trail riding most bikes that are uses are in the 350 type category.most off the trails here are a lot smaller in size ie:narrow, and you just wouldnt want to take or couldnt take a 300+kg monster down them.i does look like a complete adventure but i always try even tho its on the road to make every ride out one. unlucky or what! - wrex - 20-08-2006 I like the 1150gs with the rocket launcher under the panniers, very useful on crowded motorways me thinks! unlucky or what! - ChrisG - 20-08-2006 <!--quoteo(post=14449:date=Sun 20th Aug 2006, 04:16 PM:name=wrex)-->QUOTE(wrex @ Sun 20th Aug 2006, 04:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->I like the 1150gs with the rocket launcher under the panniers, very useful on crowded motorways me thinks!<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> He's going to have some serious issue when it comes to going around corners though Never seen a low level pipe like that on a GS either. unlucky or what! - ROB1 - 20-08-2006 <!--quoteo(post=14458:date=Sun 20th Aug 2006, 06:39 PM:name=ChrisG)-->QUOTE(ChrisG @ Sun 20th Aug 2006, 06:39 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->He's going to have some serious issue when it comes to going around corners though Never seen a low level pipe like that on a GS either.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> do you realise how popular that mod on the gs would be if ewan & charlie had that must have accessory on their lond way round bikes unlucky or what! - AL-58 - 21-08-2006 <!--quoteo(post=14458:date=Mon 21st Aug 2006, 01:39 AM:name=ChrisG)-->QUOTE(ChrisG @ Mon 21st Aug 2006, 01:39 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->He's going to have some serious issue when it comes to going around corners though Never seen a low level pipe like that on a GS either.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> The pipe can be adjusted down somehow. Touring riders often have the low pipe so you use full-size panniers on both sides instead of the narrow left pannier on the R1150R and GS. The missus has a low Staintune on her 1150R for just that reason. High pipe is for styling only, no practical purpose. The OEM high pipe has never been used, still sitting in a box in the garage. I dont think he'd be too worried about cornering clearance, lost of straight roads out there and not much extreme leaning on the dirt. Al |
