rear sprocket play - Guest - 28-11-2006 Hi there ![]() Yesterday i was washing my bike and i've noticed something rather confusing. I was cleaning the chain, and discovered that the rear chain sprocket is playing a bit in the axial direction. Is that normal? Or is it a broken bearing? rear sprocket play - Guest - 28-11-2006 <!--quoteo(post=23107:date=Tue 28th Nov 2006, 12:40 PM:name=AZZKIKR)-->QUOTE(AZZKIKR @ Tue 28th Nov 2006, 12:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->Hi there ![]() Yesterday i was washing my bike and i've noticed something rather confusing. When new, ht esprocket carrier is a push fit into the rubbers, but as the rubbers wear, the sprocket carrier tangs become a loose fit and hence the play you have discovered. Look at the the ocndition of the rubbers, if they they look well worn replace them, but you can leave them if you don't want the expense. You'll have a bit more transmission slop but thats about it. rear sprocket play - Guest - 28-11-2006 I guess it will be quite difficult to find such parts? rear sprocket play - ROB1 - 28-11-2006 you dont give the where abouts of your location. In the uk the parts are available at any yam dealer @ aroung £35 ukp. rear sprocket play - David_H - 29-11-2006 <!--quoteo(post=23137:date=Tue 28th Nov 2006, 08:30 PM:name=ROB1)-->QUOTE(ROB1 @ Tue 28th Nov 2006, 08:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->you dont give the where abouts of your location. In the uk the parts are available at any yam dealer @ aroung £35 ukp.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> I recently replaced mine on the MKI, only £18 for the 3 from a Yam dealer and took away the worst of the gearbox clunk! rear sprocket play - Guest - 29-11-2006 Well, i live in Bulgaria Here, the Yam dealer is same as the greek Yam dealer. I will try Actually in Bulgaria the TDM is one of the rarest bikes you can see. And its reputation is not that good. Most of the people say that the engine is crap, because it gets broken frequently. Something that i cannot agree to. For almost 3 months of riding (riding on a TDM), i've seen 1 MK2, and 3 MK1's. rear sprocket play - robelst - 29-11-2006 <!--quoteo(post=23200:date=Wed 29th Nov 2006, 11:04 AM:name=AZZKIKR)-->QUOTE(AZZKIKR @ Wed 29th Nov 2006, 11:04 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->I will try Actually in Bulgaria the TDM is one of the rarest bikes you can see. They only add oil and gasoline, and hope for the best. Or is that only for some OEM Yamaha parts like emulsion tubes...? rear sprocket play - Guest - 04-12-2006 Well, it turned out that my problem is coming from the bearing. The rubber part is ok. But the bearing inside it is fooked. Anyone has an idea what exactly is this bearing? I mean like a model number or something? So i can go directly to the shop (with my bike), instead of taking everything apart. rear sprocket play - King OFF the Road - 04-12-2006 This should be for the 98 model [attachment=o207] [attachment=o208] Take from the world famous JBX Tech Pages rear sprocket play - Guest - 04-12-2006 I think that is part N13 ![]() So what brand of bearings do you recommend?
