what brake fluid? - robsue20 - 29-11-2006 Got a set of front goodridge hoses of of flea bay today,£10 brand new from goodridge ,so that means,probably,hours of bleeding brakes.Dont know when the fluid was last done,or what was used.Any ideas on whether dot3 is better than dot4,or dot5,or dot5.1. what brake fluid? - sparra99 - 29-11-2006 Check this link out. Works a treat and available everywhere (I bought it at our local Tesco store ). Don't use DOT 5, it's silicon based and messes things up horribly in systems destined to use 3, 4 or 5.1. Bleeding is made easy when using a vacuum-pump and / or Speed Bleeder valves. Jam-jar and bit of transparent hose works too though, provided you eat all the jam first.
