Abs Issue - Andy25 - 27-09-2023 Afternoon Gentlemen So ABS light came on last week - no big deal reset after switching Bike on and off Then day later on again this time speedo reads about 30 mph max - once again managed to reset but this time needed to disconnect battery ! Now its back on again speedo still not working properly - but if I put High Beam on it reads 0 mph no matter how fast I"m going No obvious error codes Red key is somewhere Safe ! ( Moving House this weekend so might take a day or 2 to find it ! ) So now the questions  ABS sensor - how does it come out ? does wheel need removed ? ( though might be a case of give it a clean ? ) It appears to have a bolt holding it in but even after removing that bolt - Sensor still solid Had a look at Fowlers - these parts are costly - so don't want to start ordering sensors etc unless I have too  Personally I'm not fussed about the ABS system - ( I can put a bit of tape over that bloody bright red light ) its more the Speedo that bothers Me Had a look at JBX site also a quick sweep of Carpe - a few mentions but lacking the details that I want  Cheers Andy Abs Issue - alanfavell - 27-09-2023 How I do mine....  Heldi in by 1 bolt. Wheel does not need removal A gentle tap on the tang the bolt goes through to rotate the sensor in its housing and then remove the sensor by pulling like you were defusing a bomb.  Simples if it's not corroded in ala BMW. I think the 1300 yam sensors are the same but not sure anymore Prone to corrosion if not part of your service routine. If it is stuck by corrosion - good luck and iI'm not responsible for anything you break.  When / if you remove the sensor take care not to bash the magnetic sensor end and clean it before assembly keeping the grease off the sensor end. [attachment=o15413] Abs Issue - Andy25 - 27-09-2023 Cheers Favs Ill go and give it a try  Andy Abs Issue - Andy25 - 27-09-2023 Well a not so gentle tap got some movement eventually  But No way is that coming out easily  looks like its corroded in Wonder if leaving the bolt out will help it vibrate loose  :hide: Abs Issue - Studley Ramrod - 28-09-2023 I tried Favs method but the bracket ended up spinning on the sensor. Proper stuck. Abs Issue - Andy25 - 28-09-2023 Quote:I tried Favs method but the bracket ended up spinning on the sensor. Proper stuck. No spinning here - bracket needs a very firm tap to move Not sure what to do now - this has the potential to be bloody expensive Abs Issue - catsbum - 28-09-2023 By chance have you an led rear light?  Cats Abs Issue - drewpy - 30-09-2023 wish you'd change the title, keep thinking its about your abdominal muscles :rotflmmfao: Abs Issue - alanfavell - 01-10-2023 I don't like shellfish either
Abs Issue - Andy25 - 04-10-2023 Quote:By chance have you an led rear light?Nope - standard light  Strangely the ABS light issue has resolved its self At my new House there is a path of uneven crazy paving which I rode the bike over to park it whilst moving in the Same thing I did the day before it went faulty  :unsure2: Sounds stupid but No issues since then so been fine for past couple of days  Think Ill just park on the Street for a bit ![]() |
