RTT08 - What to Wear? - Matlock - 26-06-2008 RTT08 is looming close enough for the long range forecasts to say the weather is going to be OK, although doubtless this will change as we get closer to the dates . Now shall I wear my leathers and take my one piece rainsuit in luggage, or shall I wear my goretex textile kit? The textile is fairly cool in hot weather as it has openable vents, but I prefer riding in leathers. But then if it rains I have to put my one-piece on and I hate wearing that. So textile it is. Or maybe leather. Decisions, decisions. The sticking point (literally) is that I hate dragging my rainsuit on over leathers. My main challenge is to cut down drastically on the amount of spare clothing (in particular) that I usually take, RTT08 - What to Wear? - TonyDevil - 26-06-2008 2 pairs of underwear is all you need, get 4 days outta each set or take a thong instead and you can get 6days RTT08 - What to Wear? - Guest - 26-06-2008 <!--quoteo(post=88915:date=Thu 26th Jun 2008, 01:26 PM:name=Matlock)-->QUOTE(Matlock @ Thu 26th Jun 2008, 01:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->RTT08 but I prefer riding in leathers.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> Who is sharing with Matlock RTT08 - What to Wear? - geordieguy - 26-06-2008 Sparda Textile waterproof Jacket Leather trousers, Waterproof leggins. I'm keeping my options open and bringing cordura/goretex and a pair of draggin's I think I should be able to pack everything without needing the side panniers though, couldn't believe the difference in fuel consumption between SnowJoke with panniers and Germany without RTT08 - What to Wear? - iand1947 - 02-07-2008 <!--quoteo(post=89757:date=Wed 2nd Jul 2008, 02:51 PM:name=ChrisG)-->QUOTE(ChrisG @ Wed 2nd Jul 2008, 02:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->As any of the snowjokers will agree, you're unlikely to turn up with more luggage than me.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> A hard-earned pound on that? I've at l(e)ast opted on textiles instead of ye olde cowhide, in view of the mixed weather forecast, but am still hedging on changes and layers for the same reason. RTT08 - What to Wear? - catsbum - 02-07-2008 Well my bike will look like the long way down by the time i'm finished. I'm struggling a bit with the Ironing board but have a plan for that My packing starts Saturday and I cant see me not bringing side bags. RTT08 - What to Wear? - Matlock - 02-07-2008 The forecast for Ireland, Saturday to Tuesday, is looking 'textile' to me. From Tuesday onwards it's leather weather. Of course, I go home on Tuesday I won't pack my sun block........ As I'm taking a long run at this and setting off tomorrow (as far as Shrewsbury), I'm packed already Once again the thousand little extras have found spaces, encouraged by the scoot's capacity for such. And it wouldn't be a tour without a soddin' great bag on the back, now, would it? Ooooh now -- running boards... RTT08 - What to Wear? - iand1947 - 03-07-2008 FWIW re final preps, the weather forecast for Kerry is looking likely grey till Tuesday, though opinions differ. It's a changeable part of the world, and for sure we have a great RTT in prospect. So life could be worse - eg check out the long-range guy in the left column of that 2nd linky... RTT08 - What to Wear? - chrislarkin - 03-07-2008 Another beautiful morning here in Kerry. Up for a run and a swim with the dogs at 6.30 and, lying on my back in the water looking at the blue skies above and the sun shining on the mountains, I cannot understand the weather forecast. Yesterday was beautiful too. Must be the calm before the storm.
