De-restricting Jap Model Mk2/5gg/4tx - 180kph Limit - TonyDevil - 03-08-2009 original topic here http://www.carpe-tdm.net/ipb/index.php?showtopic=13796 <!--quoteo(post=130737:date=Fri 31st Jul 2009, 07:52 PM:name=springers)-->QUOTE(springers @ Fri 31st Jul 2009, 07:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->A flash of inspiration and the help of an excellent local mechanic (Jesse James, newport Shropshire) and the points given by you wonderful posters. The bike is now supporting the UK/4TX ECU and the lights work..... So for all those with an import Japanese TDM850 marked as a 5GG - this has worked for me 1 Obtain a 4TX ECU marked with and E 2 Remove and replace 5GG ECU 3 Remove speed sensor from the speedo assembly - tape up under the front fairing 4 Remove the odd relay from above the ECU unit (white with four wires) 5 Bridge output of relay with a fused link - we used 7.5 amp 6 Smile lots with what appears to be a full power bike with working lights It appears the imports are restricted in two areas - speed sensor for the 180 kph restriction and a programming restriction in the ECU unit Again thanks to all those who helped....
