I did 750+ miles in a day 2 up with luggage 2 years ago when I had my TDM but my wife had had enough and spit her dummy out, refusing to travel any further otherwise I'd have done 1000 miles then. Also done over 1000 miles in the car in less than 24 hours this year....boy was that boring. All motorway across Europe. Wouldn't want to do it on either of my current bikes though....MZ etz125 an Ducati 900ss 1000 Miles In 24 Hrs - Studley Ramrod - 21-01-2010 Hey ho, might be avin a go ! My body'll prolly be ok but it's the concentration needed over 24hrs that worries me......and a number of peeps that know me Moreso because the event kicks off at 9am which means the part of the journey where you start feeling mentally tired is also the part of the journey thats flippin dark. Would be better if it started in the evening in that respect. Rami, what colour is yer bike ? Had a look at some photos of last years event and spotted a yellow 9er with a lady rider but couldn't find another tdm. 1000 Miles In 24 Hrs - dapleb - 22-01-2010 SR, I have found the important thing in doing big mile days is indeed.....doin big miles. The first few days of big miles are tough but after a week or so everything beds in and things stop aching. I enjoy the 24hour thing in Belgium because it isn't about the miles but the time on the bike (backroads only), watching the sun set and rise whilst still riding is a very strange and incredible sensation. 1000 Miles In 24 Hrs - TonyDevil - 22-01-2010 <!--quoteo(post=147781:date=Fri 22nd Jan 2010, 08:05 AM:name=dapleb)-->QUOTE(dapleb @ Fri 22nd Jan 2010, 08:05 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->I enjoy the 24hour thing in Belgium because it isn't about the miles but the time on the bike (backroads only), watching the sun set and rise whilst still riding is a very strange and incredible sensation.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->wanna go do it this year? i'm finkin the rebuilt mk1 should go visit its previous life 1000 Miles In 24 Hrs - dapleb - 22-01-2010 Would love to but not sure funds will allow....wonder if its Ardennes day or night this year (they reverse the course). 1000 Miles In 24 Hrs - wicklamulla - 23-01-2010 <!--quoteo(post=147784:date=Fri 22nd Jan 2010, 08:16 AM:name=dapleb)-->QUOTE(dapleb @ Fri 22nd Jan 2010, 08:16 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->Would love to but not sure funds will allow....wonder if its <!--coloro:#F4A460--><!--/coloro-->Ardennes<!--colorc--> <!--/colorc--> day or night this year (they reverse the course).<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> ohh deer me do be careful, 1000 Miles In 24 Hrs - Matt686 - 24-01-2010 I have entered for this.
