Oy!

I have a Nine inch screen sitting here in the garage. There must be room somewhere for it!

Incredible pictures Tony. Amazing to think that BBC seem to think that there is more visual excitement in covering F1 than the biggest motor vehicle event on the planet.

I watched the TV coverage this year and it was good to see 2 Yamahas in top 5. Will this trigger Yamaha to launch the ST1200 while there is global ineterest in Dakar-derived machines?

Pete

p.s. yes I know, in F1 we have LH and JB, but the TV presentation is like watching paint dry
p.p.s. does anyone, anywhere, outside the Button and Hamilton families, actually watch F1 on TV?

Re Number 12, I think I would have gone the long way round, it looks like driving off the end of the world

if ya look at the helicopter in the background you can work out the angle the photo was taken at and then it doesnt look quite so mental
still crazy just not as bad

Still looks a bit mental.

Yet again a fantastic Dakar. Even the cages were interesting How come it's not that popular in the UK? It's an awesome spectacle, better than F1 and even MotoGP in my opinion.

Stunnin! I've been watching some video feeds of the event & the fearless commitment of the competitors leaves me slack jawed. I cannot get my head around the speed of the bikes over terrain I would struggle to pootle a trials bike over.
Bless the nutters.

That is, of course, if one assumes that all helicopters fly straight and level.

I'll stand next to the photographer and watch

Pictures From The 2010 Dakar Rally - TDMick - 19-01-2010

Imho
The more vertical that picture gets the more implausible it would seem to be able to get a vehicle out the other side of the valley, up a nearly vertical face.
I think the landscape orientation is probably the correct one.
It must have been like driving off the edge of the world!

Pictures From The 2010 Dakar Rally - dandywarhol - 19-01-2010

Look at the tyre tracks leading to the big drop and the orientation looks about right IMO - still, doesn't really matter, its a stunning pic!

Long time no hear BB
