Ride Magazine - jimmyf46 - 21-01-2010

March issue has a large spread about the qualities of the tiger, then another about the top ten " All year round" bikes.

What a laugh.....not a mention of the TDM.

Some of the bikes mentioned are not even worth taking out in the rain never mind all year round.

I gave up on Ride magazine years ago. It seemed to be written by learners and poorly edited.

Yep, bought a copy yesterday, won't bother again for a while. I can't understand why the Tiger is so popular, there's pages of problems listed in the magazine - engines drinking oil, electrics failing, poor finish, brakes warping, crap luggage. It must be a hell of a performer for people to put up with that list of faults.

Just turned computer on to mention Ride mag and you beat me to it,rather have the tdm than most of them bikes.

Ride Magazine - Guest - 21-01-2010

I used to read Ride magazine every month then realised half the mag was just a constant repeat of previous ride reports.
Shame as the other stuff was quite good but I'm not paying full price for half a flippin mag. Needless to say I dont subscribe anymore.

Just saw this thread from the top and this is exactly what I see when flicking through it, oh and flawed tests like for instance on security chains. It lists all the top 'name' makes but misses out on Almax (a small UK company that make uncroppable chains) which beat the others hands down in tests. I wonder if this is down to lack of advertising being paid for by them?

People probably think the same of us TDM owners, to slow, dont handle, some use oil etc etc. but we know our bike & like them for our reasons. Tiger owners are prob the same but they get to say they own a TRIUMPH. As I said else were I liked the the Tiger up to that silly rear German streetfighter style seat unit & at the current £8099 for a TDM900 & the Tigers £9000 price I can see the Tiger being more popular as its a premium brand.
