Went for a job interview yesterday - was a sales job so pretty formal and structured and not your usual chatty interaction. The only time the guy went 'off topic' from the job in hand was to ask what i did in my spare time, I replied that one of my passions was motorcycling and he immediately asked what bike i had, I replied that i had a TDM900 and asked if he rode a bike to which he sort of disimissed my reply with a 'i used to ride years ago' - as i got up to leave I noticed that one of the major notes he had written down was, 'YAM TDM900' and an exclamation mark. Either he likes TDMs or that was the only noteworthy thing I said that was of interest!!

In one job interview I had some years back, about 10 minutes in, the interviewer commented on the 'Interests' bit of my CV; âI see you are a member of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale), so am Iâ. We spent the next 45 minutes talking about beer and pubs, the job I was applying for never came up in the interview again. I got the job!
When I went for the interview for my first ever job, apprentice service engineer at 'the Gas Board', I had a lengthy panel interview and had to sit some tests. At the end, the guy in charge said; âwell that's the tests and interview over Chris, do you like tea?â. âYesâ I said, thinking I'm going to be offered a cuppa, surely a good sign. âGoodâ he replied, âbecause you're going to be drinking a great deal of it from now on, welcome to East Midlands Gas....â. [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rotflmmfao.gif[/img] I bet he said it to everyone who got a job offer, but it made my day.

There was a job in our local paper a few years ago that I nearly applied for.
Events organiser, for Adnams Brewery.
At least when someone says "you couldn't organise a p#ss up in a brewery" you could say yes!
Needless to say, I didn't have the qualifications!
