Carole Gash - drobinson - 21-02-2011 Just had my renewal quote through from said broker with a great offer of £205.62 for fully comp on my bikes -TDM900 and SR500- down from £255.95 with my current insurer. Quick 10 minutes on the interweb on the Nash website and I came back with a quote of £133.03 for identical cover with the same company -aviva. So a quick phonecall to the salesdesk and surprise surprise they will match the web quote over the phone. Thing is I have to go through this same charade every fecking year, and it irritates me just a little!! BD<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> Yep its strange but true, Last year I paid CN £270 with 1 years no claims. I rang them this year (have gained 6 points in the car) but have 2 yrs no claim. they quoted £296. Went on there own web site and had a web estimate £236 go figure. I took there internet offer Carole Gash - paddy900 - 21-02-2011 It might be a bit of a charade Big Dave, But if it keeps money in your pocket then its worth all the bother.. Carole Gash - dapleb - 22-02-2011 As much as I despise lieing Carole, snot just her. The only time this has not happened to me with any insurance company was this year with AQuote....the quote was exactly the same as the year afore and by far the lowest. No need to phone around as it was more than a fair price. The AA however insist on trying to charge me £120 for £70 cover EVERY year. Normally I phone em and tell em to stop messing about and they give me the web price....this year they extended the routine to "oil 'ave to ask me manager gov" and "long standing customers are put on the list as priority to new members in event of a callout" ....before giving me the web price! Carole Gash - TKH - 22-02-2011 The insurance lottery! Are you getting the same cover with the cheaper rate? I've come across that before where a web price is fairly basic cover. However most insurance companies do similar things from my experience. Direct Line for car and house used to do, save about 20-25% if you had a quick look on line. They always matched the price. Now I think they've finally wised up because the web price matches the renewal. CN was pushing very hard to sell me insurance this time. I ended up back with Hastings for £50 (~£165) less, however CN was including UK and Eurpean breakdown in the quote. Carole Gash - slartybartfarst - 24-02-2011 Aunty Carol stunned me this time round. Last year £230 with a £400 excess, same company this year £304! However they'd found an alternative for.....£184! Same cover and £350 excess. This I believe is a result. Though they did call me on both landline and mobile everyday for several days chasing me which got a little tedious. I could get basic TPFT cover for under £100 but I like the extras all sorted in one hit and you save very little in any case. Chris Carole Gash - ChrisG - 26-02-2011 They've been ringing me every evening for several days now too, they certainly are keen £180 renewal with Aviva though Carol Nash, looked on CN's website and it came back with £130 also with Aviva Found a quote of £84 with a company I've never heard off via Confused.com but by the time you've added in the legal cover that's included with CN it brings it up to £110, and CN also include European breakdown recovery, which for the extra £20 is way cheaper than extending my RAC cover. Carole Gash - Catteeclan - 26-02-2011 Another thumps up for AQuote here. Been with them for the last 3 years covering all 4 bikes for around £160. Carole Gash - ChrisG - 27-02-2011 On the phone to CN now, they can't match their own online price as renewal but can sort out the online quote as a new policy on the phone Don't think much of their hold music though Carole Gash - magneto - 01-03-2011 Tell me, who the fuc* is Carole Nash anyway? Does she actually exist? Carole Gash - dapleb - 01-03-2011 Yes. But she sold the company. Wee wan sometimes posts up her picture cous he has a crush on her....cattle crush that is. Carole Gash - sarcoid2 - 20-05-2011 Just had the same problem with insurance.quoted £185 fully comp. "this computer says no" works out they can put you through to another department in the same building and guess what £ 97.00 this time no bells and whistles added. Breakdown insurance and legal cover that I have already with C.S.M.A Civil Service scheme. Every year they quote double and then reduce it. Insurance companies the pits. So just check that you need all these services, if not you could save a bundle. |
