Warning ! Viva Moto - matttdm99 - 12-03-2012

Hello just a warning to you all .
I got a bike from viva moto last week.
Story starts ---
Phoned viva on the Monday gave a deposit over the phone he knocked 90 quid off the bike
All going well .
Then I called on the Thursday to ask if the bike was ready before booking my train "yes he said" so I booked train and told him I would come get it on Monday
All still going well . 5 hour train trip later I turn up in bradford bike is not ready and it has a problem with front brakes !
Not good so I stand around for couple of hours they hunt around for a disc as one is bent .
They can't find one so the guy gives me 50 quid for return ticket and to let him know if it costs more and says "he will sort the bike and deliver it free on Wednesday" ok sounds good again .
I get the train home 120 quid !! Get home 12 pm 15 hours from when I left home on my day off .
LIVID ! So I call the guy Tuesday tell him ticket was 120 will he knock the 70 off what I pay for the bike ? No he says "I've fitted new discs cost me a fortune" .
I'm Livid by this point so just hangup .
Bike turns up at my house on the Wednesday but I asked for it to be dropped at my work :-$ so van driver drives 25 miles to my work drops it off I pay full amount minus the deposit and the 90 he knocked off at the start. van driver Buggers off .
I get the bike in the workshop jack the front up and front wheel hardly turns and the one of the new discs he's fitted is off to one side ! LIVID again so I strip the brakes pads are stuck in calipers so clean them off put them back in all good 20 min job they should of done . Then I looked at service book bike was sold to me with full service history but there is only two stamps in the book and there 9 years apart ? I would not call that full service history would you ? I'm thinking of taking some action. I've already called the citizens advice / trading standards they noted it but said to get any money back I will need to go to small claims . I want all my travel costs back almost 150 quid just to go there and come back and it put my Mrs out for two days as we had to use her car so clicked up 40 more miles than she would of and she had to sit and wait 2 hours for me to finish work and pick her up for two days .

Also they list there bikes for sale before checking them over they only check them over when there sold ! Shocking way to run a biz

I've heard of this with a fellow biker over on the VFR forum where i used to reside.

Also i notice in his adverts he always states 'taken in px at the main dealers' Er yeah right, you mean we buy any bike.com.

And did anybody else notice Gloucestersausage TDM9 in there for £5700?

'tis easy to say now but I never buy any vehicle without a test drive/ride. That way you've a better idea of what you're getting. Not fool proof mind......
