I see you have the full mechanics tool kit up front. Lol

In my defence that lump hammer belongs to the client. Useful as back up though. I tend to use dead blow hammers these days with lead shot inside.

Looks rather heavy, hope you had ya weetabix.

Ferguson Te20 Tractor - leehenty - 13-02-2021

It was massively heavy, obviously 1935 era lads were made of stronger stuff.

Oi loike tratters!

Ferguson Te20 Tractor - peter-may - 13-02-2021

Looks like you've got your hands full there Lee....won't bother asking about a small lathe job then!! We pass a little grey fergie for sale, turning off the A5 at that place I cant pronounce or spell, and always wish I had the time, space, money, skills, equipment and permission to have at it!! Enjoy!

Ferguson Te20 Tractor - James - 13-02-2021

I could do with a grey Fergie at my place.

I find working on something old school a relief from the crap we look after in the garage. A few of the main stealers around here won't do head gasket jobs as it's easier to drop in a new engine.

The difference between a fitter and a mechanic, if the scanner don't tell them whats wrong they have chance, no hope of seeing a "technician" with a screwdriver handle to their ear finding the source of the clatter.

Very true but those "technicians" who learn well will be sort after.

I will use a screwdriver to locate a noise but it won't find a misfire at 3240rpm on light throttle while sticking a yellow rose in your right ear on a 15 deg day. You get my point. Lol

With this technology comes a whole new world of learning and the customer expects much more.

Brother of mine has a Pico scope, he actually measures the spark profile to see if it's rich or weak.

I prefer old school clockwork engines not much needed to get them going.

I had an XL650 Dominator for 18months or so, wish I still had that bike what a giggle, due to the single cylinder low down grunt chain & sprockets took a battering and back tyres didnt last very long but fronts were OK as the wheel was hardly ever on the tarmac !!! LOL
