Insurance - Doggy - 28-03-2013 Got my renewal notice from Carole Nash at £177.58 which Includes breakdown, European cover etc.  Phoned them and said I want to renew but a bit steep compared to others on MCN Compare.  Very nice lady said she could not alter the quoted price, but go on our website and do it, it will be cheaper.  And it was, got the same cover for £120.00!  Great deal, but why did they not quote me that in the first place?  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr   Insurance - Deauman - 28-03-2013 I had just insured my deauville with Carole Nash for £120 when I decided to get a TDM. I thought swapping would involve a small extra premium but they wanted nearly twice as much! Fortunately the policy was less than 14 days old so I had the right to cancel. I wonder why I am such a poor risk compared to you?? I have 3 years ncd and definately fall into the too-old-to-be-a -tearaway category. Got similar cover from Grove and Dean (whoever they are) for £130. Insurance - ChrisG - 28-03-2013 I never understand insurance.  Renewed my house insurance the other day, and because I'd taken out a travel insurance policy with the same company they gave me a discount on the house insurance of more than the travel insurance had cost! Insurance - Robodene - 28-03-2013 I keep ranting about the disfunctional industry. I think there are many wheezes in play: like Deauman, I was walloped when I changed my TDM but I could not cancel.  I have just had my renewals from the AA (I have the bikes covered under separate policies). My Kymco premium was significantly less than I thought it would be (£125) even with an extra rider. But the MT-03 was £243 - even with 5 years NCD and I am an old git too. I immediately got in touch with Bikesure. I accepted their premium of £156. Job done. Play them at their own game, if you can. It was amusing to me that their online system could not cope with the fact that I qualified to ride bikes at the age of 16 - in 1956... ![]() Insurance - Mark1aa - 29-03-2013 My insurance through Bennetts was £122 for Tpft with no no claims and passing my test 6 weeks previously for my mk1tdm .paid extra £25 admin fee and extra £24 to change to mk2 tdm 2001 at start of march.i have 12 years ncd in a car and 33 years car experience .shocked how cheap mine was. first bike was a dr350.
