My Life Is A Sitcom - Continued. - chrisr - 11-08-2021

The comedy continues, or is it a farce? I arranged a parcel to be delivered by Hermes on their Next Day service, the parcel was dropped off at one of their parcel shops on Sunday afternoon, I didnt expect it to be delivered on Monday but thought it would come yesterday. Tracking the parcel yesterday it said it was out for delivery. It didnt arrive. If you try and contact Hermes you are put through to a robot that told me it was with my local courier and out for delivery. I eventually managed to get through to a human on a premium rate number and was answered by said human after 15 minutes who after telling me the parcel was with my local courier kept repeating that as the parcel was not dropped off before 11am on Monday (it was) it could not have gone Next Day. What did I pay for? Yes you paid for Next Day delivery but it wasnt dropped off before 11am on Monday Yes it was, Sunday afternoon is before 11am Monday! And so we went on, until she cut me off. Great customer service yet again, I wont be using them again but it seems companies now dont give a stuff. End of yet another rant, thanks for listening.

From what I hear we are desperately short of lorry drivers in all areas.

But you're right, no one gives a f**k.

“I arranged a parcel to be delivered by Hermes on their Next Day service,”………

But…….. did it eventually turn up? :unsure2:

I've used Hermes a lot without issues in the past but they managed to lose an end can I'd sent to Scotland at the end of last year. Because I'd bought their service through Ebay and I think Packlink I couldn't contact Hermes direct which made it even more "entertaining". To cut a long story short the day after they admitted they didn't know where the package was and agreed to issue a refund and compensation of the sale value it turned up on my doorstep! I lost very little sleep keeping their compensation and sending it back to the buyer again using a different courier............................

In that case it took me days to find a phone number and I can tell you swearing at the "Digital Assistant" had very little effect.

It turned up on Thursday, my wife eventually found someone who would listen and help. They sent it in a car. Cost a fortune on their premium rate number, more than the cost of postage! Since then she has had about four apology e-mails.

They are quick enough to chase you when it works in their favour. I sent a parcel that was fractionally oversize and they billed me £10.70 extra. When I ignored it, they sent repeated reminders until I finally bit the bullet and paid

Ahhh herpes.

Delivered me some osmo oil...thought it was odd that it was by the front door as they normally just don't deliver it (or don't leave a card) if no one is in.

I picked box up and took it in... then noticed oil dripping on carpet. They had very kindly positioned the box outside so that the leak couldn't be seen and obviously wanted it off their van as they had crushed the tin in half somehow!!!!!

I also got two relays from a pug guy through eBay. They arrived eventually and all was good. A week later pug guy emailed me a bit narked as herpes had sent him an email saying the package was over their 1kg (or whatever) limit and he owed them a load more dosh. They wouldn't stop pestering him, luckily I had not fitted relays and kept all the packaging and was able to weigh it with UKAS certificated scales....they came to a grand total of 116.7grams including packaging, so not really that close to 1kg hey.

My car's windscreen cracked last week, so I phoned the insurance and we organised National Windscreens to repair it the next day,

In the morning NW phoned to say they found my screen at the depot but it was broken (you would think they know screens are a bit fragile, and the inventory system would have been updated)....so 'without fail. we will do it on Friday' . On Thursday evening I got a phonecall "can't do it tomorrow, too busy, you know how it is with covid...pick a day next week. So I've chosen tomorrow, Tuesday and have little faith, because they said if it's raining it makes life difficult....

They told me that because the crack is full height on the driver's side it is classed as a priority emergency repair.

Can't wait for the 'would you like to give us your opinion' email to arrive....

top quality stuff there Dappers as i bought some recently and was shocked at the price.

Hermes have been having loads of problems in Mid Devon too and they have been taking a pasting on social media as they drop off a package and take a pic. of it as proof of delivery but the pic is not outside the correct address so people have taken to asking other home owners in the village to check for a mis-delivered package. I'd hate to be a van delivery driver.Â
