Gave it a wash as it was grubby from the Bath run last weekend, ready for the breakfast run which isn't happening tomorrow morning. :istupid:

Spent all day attending an Essex Fire Bike Advanced Machine Skills course. The TDM's performed admirably, especially through a fast slalom in and out of cones!

Bimble around N/land gated roads ending up in Seahouses for lunch.

Had a big slide crossing a slimy-bottomed ford - had to have a dab - spent the rest of the day with a wet foot.

Had to reset the ABS lamp several times,

Washed bike off and adjusted the scottoiler to deliver a bit more oil.

Beer o clock now.

On a roll with the bikes. With the black one sorted, I re-fitted the rewound stator on the white one, along with a new DID chain and renthal sprockets. I also changed the back tyre while the wheel was off. Assuming it starts in the morning with a fully charged battery, I will take it for an MOT.

Ali

It started and I went for the MOT in the sunshine. Sailed through as expected, but the examiner did comment on the chain slack (Yamaha Main Dealer). I pointed out that it was 45-50mm as laid down in the manual, but that I would be checking it again after a few miles, as it was a new chain and he was happy.

Had a ride out in the glorious sunshine to where there is still some snow & met, by chance, a couple of pals I hadn't seen for a few years.

Had cafe stop for T and CAKE too.

Adjusted scottoiler again (x3).

ABS lamp is beginning to get on my squeak.....

Bike club for past glory stories & P taking tonight......

My 9er came with a vacuum fed scottoiler. If not used for a few weeks I often have to prime it again, and readjust it for a while.

Bit of a pain. But now I know to look out for it.

Unit is currently delivering oil from prime position to around a third of travel back from prime where delivery becomes minimal. This offers an unacceptable level of tuning adjustment.

Had the same oiler unit on my 4tx without bother. Going to use both vacuum stubs, as I did on 850, to find out what happens, if anything.

Same here, past 5 years.

I thought this was normal.

Did supply oil from a drop about every 5/6 min to almost continuous stream to continuous flow on prime with full rotation as scale of adjustment.

Not now.

Using Scott oil blue - system worked fine with HT and blue Scott oil last summer!

Discovered my rear tyre has a valve leak. Came back off hols to find it was flat, pumped it up to 42 yesterday and today its totally flat again. Now got to get the wheels off somehow and fit the nice new pair of Angel GTs that weren't meant to go on yet...

...Then again, look what arrived yesterday...

Made the automatic brake light 'plug and play' and installed it in the tailpiece. Hoping to test it this evening[attachment=o8036]

MOT'd again, along with the works van too.

Mental downpours made everything twice the effort. Worth it though.

What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - fixitsan - 11-05-2016

Tested the autobrake light....went over the Forth Road Bridge, due to it having regular surface dips every 20m, at the bridge deck joints.....enabling me to check for sensitivity to surface undulations.

Had Mr White Audi tailgating me in the 40mph section, I just rolled off the throttle and my speed went 40 - 39 - 38 - 37, while at the same time his went 40 - 35 - 30 - 25  Smile  It works !

Riding at 50mph on the level and pulling in the clutch , to allow only aerodynamic braking forces to affect the bike and the brakelight came on as the speed dropped slowly....this is probably too sensitive, so a couple of tweaks to be made here.
