Saw your website - some really nice guitars there. Create the TDM-guitar, and I will be a customer ! Remember, I'm a MkI - guy ;-)

Today I had a 5 years old boy of some friends seating on the 9er inside the garage and he was happy like a dog in front of a saussage...

stripped my right hand brake adjuster bolt thread in the swingarm  :bag:     , got to take the wheel out again, so I can get my thread fixing gear in there.

Alloy threads you are going to rotate fairly often are not really a good idea, they tend to wear out  Confusedorry:

installed the GPS mount/charger for Garmin Montana 650. Used the alarm wiring under the seat for switched ignition and also for ground. Thanks to JBX`s excellent webpage i found this alarm wire with live ignition: http://www.jbx9.t15.org/index.php?page=ALR

Walked 2 yards to look at my 9er in my garage, i won't be able to ride it for a while after it fell over on me as i was moving it a few foot in the garage, I tried to hold it up, my back give way the bike is fine but i have now got a cracked vertebrae in lower back A&E say i should be ok after several weeks of pain.Thinking i might need something lighter now i is over 70, the MT07 would be ok but having ridden one it feels a bit small i cant see the dash without bending my head down! a street triple is about the right size

anyone ridden one or have any other suggestions!

Geebus !  Get well soon matey :giveusahug:

How about a KTM/Yammy single potter ?  A lot lighter than the TDM.  Or summat loike a BMW twin that keeps the weight lower down perhaps ?

Fitted a hid kit to the low beam.

Ello, why are those screws missing?

Well that went ok.

Replaced the missing screws, reconnected the fag lighter which I wasn't impressed with and don't need. Scuffy wiring. Started the bike which struggled to turn over at first, clock reset. Looks like a new battery maybe on the cards.

Went for a quick spin, stuck it in the shed, seat off to find the wires going to said fag lighter wrapped around the battery terminals and no fuse. Wires have just been ripped off the battery and the rest will come out later.

Also fitted this givi touring screen which was supplied with the bike just to see what the difference is.

I'm not pointing at it, finger's holding it on.

Wired up my electric fuel pump, running a great and so much more responsive,

Fitted a 12 volt accessory socket,

Fitted good ridge rear brake line with stainless unions and new copper washers,

Bread rear brake ready for use,

Purchased new oil and filter,

Purchased new Delkovic 450 mm can

Ordered n Fzr 1000 chain gaurd ready for the Mot

Now just waiting for fuel line reducers and clips( should be here in morn) ready to tidy up fit of new fuel pump and then I'll fit the new can, run her up to temp and change the oil.

I'm almost at the end of this project having gone right through the bike sorting any issues and fitting FZR 1000 exup running gear and brakes. The rear swinger took quite a bit of engineering to make it fit correctly but looks gorgeous on and gives the bike a far better stance and look

I've had quite a bit of help and advice from this good site, I'll post some pic's once finished and see what you think of her. Spent a fortune and far more than she's worth but that's not the point , just like the challenge and seeing the finished product. I've saved all the original parts too so now got two bikes in one with a little spannering !

Removed cam chain tensioner and took it apart. My thanks to dandywarhol for providing knowledge about how to find #1 (left) cylinder TDC.

Wound the CCT spring up as much as possible and then reassembled (the CCT), which is quite tricky business, particularly if the spring tension is high.

Engine is now.. not quiet of course, but certainly less clatter at tickover.

After fiddling with CCT I guess it's plausible that the problems stem from factory assembly. It is so much easier to assemble CCT with spring under low(ish) tension than high.

Little suggestion: do not use only flat-blade screwdriver to lock CCT after retracting, as shown in the manual. Definitely lock it after retracting, the locking piece is very simple to make, I used 0,85mm thick plexiglas scrap laying around. After rewounding spring to higher tension the CCT tends to voluntarily unlock which could be disastrous while installing it. It could bump into camchain and cause it jump or cause overtension, depending on circumstances..

Uh, I guess I was not clear enough wrt to "voluntary unlock". The point being that CCT plunger kind of locks in place after fully retracting it, even without using external locking piece. But this is like walking on the edge of knife, one moment it is still locked and the next it isn't anymore. Higher tensioned spring will aggravate this tendency.

Rode it to it's new home in the country. Not like doing a rebuild or anything, but good enough for me.

I'm finally getting round to wash mine after a week recovering from a 3500 miles round trip to Narvik & the Lofoten Isles off the north of Norway.

Both the TDM and Francois's Varadero behaved perfectly apart from both bikes getting blown off their side-stands & suffering some cosmetic damage.
