>>> INTRODUCE YOURSELF HERE <<< - Gdog - 06-10-2013 Hi there JD and welcome to the forum,  I'm sure a few of the 900 owners will be along shortly to pass on there knowledge. >>> INTRODUCE YOURSELF HERE <<< - Pantboy - 06-10-2013 Quote:Hello all, I've just bought an '02 900. Ridden back from Bath to west yorkshire. Never ridden a twin before so found it strange at first, but did plenty of overtakes up the Fosseway and found there was plenty of power. I had an fz1 before and found the high revs and power unuseable in day to day riding. TDMs power is very useable and there's plenty of torque for my style of riding. Like the riding position, though the dash seemed miles away. It's fair to say my bike has not been loved, but that's why it was so cheap. :welcome: Jonathon.  idle speed on a 900 is between 1100 and 1200 RPM, i find it works best when it's closer to 1200 >>> INTRODUCE YOURSELF HERE <<< - DazzerB - 06-10-2013 Quote:Hello all, I've just bought an '02 900. Might also be worth checking your cold start plunger isn't stuck, this can cause the bike to idle at high rpm. >>> INTRODUCE YOURSELF HERE <<< - manicmechanic71 - 07-10-2013 I've just bought a mark 2 850 and love it! I'm from stoke-on-trent and have owned a rather eclectic mix of bikes previously! Enfield, katana, z200, cb360, gt185 and my last one, 1988 Kawasaki zx10. That's up for sale if anyone wants something fast and heavy but cheap! Lol! I'm planning a little two up touring and just having a nice ride on it. I've been commuting on my KLR 650 since 2008 and have had a few other bikes through my hands over the years. I'm thinking of putting Givi luggage on this one. Very nice forum here folks I like the friendly banter vibe you have going here. BTW I live in Portland Oregon. Does anyone here have the Haynes in a downloadable format? |
