Hi all, long time lurker here, I found the site back when I was trying to figure out what was going on with my 850 last year. Got it sorted thanks to some of the posts on here, then chopped it in against a CBF which was an utter bargain. 6 months down the line though and the CBF is just the wrong bike. Not so much a bargain anymore eh? Anyhow, looking for a 900 now having had a go on one at the weekend, missed out on a couple recently by the looks of things as well, ah well....

Cheers

Jimmy

Hi Sisal (and others yet to acquire a TDM), and welcome.

Why not string ( :evillaffSmile along to a G2G or fettling session and see = discuss things first-hand?

>>> INTRODUCE YOURSELF HERE <<< - Rorschach - 24-02-2013

Hi guys (and gals?)

Just chopped in my '56 plate VFR for a brand spanking new shiny black TDM 900 from the lovely Yammy dealers in Southampton.  I pick her up next Saturday on a '13 plate.

It was an easy choice really as I was looking for precisely what this bike offers, easy comfort for commuting every day, and the same benefits for the odd trip out and the pilgrimage to Le Mans once a year for the MotoGP.  I'm not going to be crossing Africa any time soon, so I don't need a GS tyvm!

After all the good advice in the thread I created already, and literally hours of poring over this site and the various links to here, there and everywhere, I've already ordered a fender extender and Acerbis dual road handguards.  I'm not the most mechanically minded, so the thought of tapping and drilling to make the BMW or SV ones fit just sends shivers down my spine!

Anyways, I'm sure it won't be long before more mods are required.  I definitely want some heated grips and after the research I've done I think i'd be going with R&G, as the Yammy dealer has quoted £240 for oem ones fitted, which just seems a bit steep.  I'm sure they're far superior to aftermarket options, but at that price you could have 4 different sets break down and still be in the green.  Ah well, we'll see.

So 'hi', and hope to maybe see some of you guys around

Hello everyone introduction am Glyn have a 2003 900 in silver. Have had it a year now, after to many years on sportsbikes neck and shoulders going a bit. So needed something comfortable and fun. Been riding since I was 6 and now 50 and still going as everyone at work tells me hence the name. Live in Sheffield so with our roads needs to be comfortable and tough.

Done TT, Thundersprint, 2up and all camping gear and the kitchen sink, what a joy handled like a dream, laughed at petrol stations, didn't have to stop and stretch off. Several shows far and near fun in the twisties.

Mods so far heated grips ride all year round, fender extender, power socket, giving racks.

Mods looking at mirror arm extenders depending on new bars. Bar risers Handguards, touring screen.

well that's about it just looking forward to the coming year with some decent weather for a change.

Cheers everyone.
