Once a year, whether she needs it or not Mine's about 1200 miles off the valve shim service, so I'm hoping I can delay it until March/April - means a bit of TDM mileage rationing Scottoiler - catsbum - 30-12-2007 Right, Were going to go back, right back Deeper, deeper, yes, back, back So which Oil grade do i use then? Camchains seem to last quite well on it. Anybody tried this? Does it work with the Scotty or does it just pish out in no time? Scottoiler - catsbum - 06-01-2008 Try again: What oil do I put in my Oiler please. Went to Lidl and got some Xtra Olive, Would this do? Scottoiler - King OFF the Road - 07-01-2008 This should be ring friendly ![]() Stands back (against the wall) and awaits loads of 900 jibes! Never heard of a rubber rocker cover gasket or cap seal rotting because the owner failed to use Scottoil in the engine! In fact, engine oil is the recommended thing to use with a loobman chain oiler, but delivery rate doesn't matter there since it's governed by how often you squeeze the bottle. I just wondered if a Scottoiler would be able to cope with the low viscosity, or would the delivery be too fast? Anyone tried it? Scottoiler - catsbum - 07-01-2008 This is not going well. I give up, where do I get the Anal Lube from? In for a penny... Scottoiler - zardoz - 07-01-2008 I use my OLD engine oil. I run it through a couple of coffee filters in a funnel to remove any bits or pieces of crud. Oil is still a bit blacker than usual, but so what, thats mainly microbits of carbon. It also saves me having to trek up to council site to dispose of old oil. Scottoiler - catsbum - 09-01-2008 Well, Project Tenere is about to be put on hold as I'm using her for the work run and TDM is going to get some tlc, which means oiler is going on. I'm going to use some low viscosity oil and see how it runs. I will report back Scottoiler - zardoz - 09-01-2008 Is this just for manual application or do you use it in a Scottoiler? Sorry, I should have said, I got a Loobman last year. Scottoiler - nick16934 - 09-01-2008 I ran out of ScottOil last week and I am using some chainsaw oil. Seems to be doing the job at the moment. Scottoiler - Guest - 04-07-2008 Just fitted a universal scottoiller last night. I used the information found on JBX page, very useful. Will see how well it works when im away at the RTT.
