1. My place -> Any place in Portugal = less than 550km => Let's go!
2. My place -> Dordogne = 1300Km => I'll have to think about it... but the ride would be nice...

Maybe I'll convence myself, and then convence Oigres, and we both go...? Hum Oigres?<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Ohhhh i wanna!!!

But i am changing jobs right about now and i don't think i can make such a trip (gas keeps going up and up!!!) plus the vacation time is on a specific month.

I would really have to commit closer to the time of the trip.

For the rest of the team...

I know Portugal is on the tail of Europe has we say around here and that´s a prob for me to go out and you to visit. Hope

these plans of mine pay out in the future and if not this year maybe next one i´ll join up.

I was just looking at the distances to the campsite in the Dordogne from various ports,

Calais 843km 527miles

Cherbourg 771km 482miles

Roscoff 840km 525miles

Give you all something to think about.

Rtt 09 - stormy - 30-09-2008

Er... one question, but I may have missed it elsewhere .... when is this all intending to take place?

as an aside ...
As far as I remember, the roads around the Berlin area are not what you would call "inspiring" from a biking point of view, so despite it being only 2.5 hours away from where I am when in Germany, I'd not go to Berlin.

Dordogne sounds nice, just want to know when.

However, for those who might be interested in a "non RTT/MT event" German trip next year, the Harz Mountains are only a couple of hours south of us, so if anyone wanted to have a trip there and wanted to stop off at our place, you'd be welcome, especially if you take the overnight ferry from Harwich to Esjberg (Denmark) and head south towards Hamburg.

Did the the Harz tail end of August last year (me crash was 3 days after returning)
Stayed at Simon fullers B+B place http://www.hotel-harmoniebadgrund.org.uk/

Have to say they were some of THE best biking roads I've ever ridden & Simons' "little ride out" the mutts nutz
[Image: P8300067.jpg]

36 hairpin bends in 4.5km

Will be going back there fer sure (if i can I'll do german Treff and stop off at Harz again on way home next year)

True, the Harz are brilliant for bikes, Andrea and I go there 5/6 times a year, weather and work permitting.

Nowt stopping you joining us one weekend, goes for anyone else on here.

Overnight ferry from Harwich to Esjberg (Denmark), ride down to our place in Bad Oldesloe, overnight there with cake and beer (not always in that order!), easy run down to the Harz, have a thrash, return and repeat as above, at leisure.

Rtt 09 - jht - 06-10-2008

Hmmm

I have considered a trans euro thrash from Dunkirque to Harz & back fer a long wkend nxt spring

but me thinks the offer o'cake'n'beer would make it a much more 'pleasurable' excursion!

Roll on spring

I can't do it before then cause I b skint and have no work yet!

Think about May time, weather is likely to be warmer, drier, longer daylight aswell.

Are we going to fix a date?

Im planning my Santander/TossadeMar/Andora/Dorboing trip now.

Dates are required

could we at this to the June MT08 run?

Livin in da saurf of England - I can probably put up a couple of people before hopping onto the Eurotunnel to Calais - if someone wanted a stop over - I'm about two hrs ride from Eurotunnel - and 45min ride from Newhaven ferry port....

Ohh and I quite like the idea of Dodoinge

Rtt 09 - poldark - 08-10-2008

Was going to suggest Portsmouth to Cherbourg Seacat, but checking distances to the campsite it doesn't help much compared to Calais (apart from being prettier) and would likely be dearer than the tunnel to get across.

Cherbourg to Saint-Aubin-de-Nabirat

No tolls - 800km - 10hrs

With tolls - 765km - 9hrs - 26.60 Euros

Calais to Saint-Aubin-de-Nabirat

No tolls - 840km - 10.5hrs

With tolls - 840km - 9hrs - 38.40 Euros

This was all from a rather useful site, if you don't have a SatNav - www.mappy.com
