850 Destruction - dablik - 27-07-2020 Quote:I notice you've routed yer front brake lines behind the forks, whereas mine go around the front. Do the lines on yours rub against the rad or is there plenty of space ? Only asking as I'm thinking of re-routing mine. I should of bought 900 lines Ian, them's from a mk2 so a tad short around the front of the forks but my bars are raised 30mm as well, they dont rub on the rad as i've used 2 P clips to keep them in-situ, i've used the old oem line fixing holes for that... will grab some pics for you but be end of the week, pissin down now.  Edit.... i ended up with mk2 lines cos at the time i could only find a 3 line kit for the mk1. 850 Destruction - Studley Ramrod - 27-07-2020 Okeedokee, cheers matey. :good: I'll stick with what I've got for now. 850 Destruction - dablik - 27-07-2020 Couple more pics.  ![]() ![]() ![]() 850 Destruction - Matlock - 28-07-2020 Top job Cliff. :badgerrock: 850 Destruction - Snowbird - 28-07-2020 Why is there a poo bag hanging from the seat? 850 Destruction - peter-may - 28-07-2020 When are you visiting Cliff?? Us Mk1-owners on rescue mission ð 850 Destruction - dablik - 29-07-2020 Many thanks gentleman, yet to have her on the road for a proper run so keep fingers crossed all is good, the poo bag was just to keep my airbag hook up line clean with all the building work going on.. Just have to address the handle bars being a bit loose and fit in an mot now.  Will want it run in Pete before a visit down the M-way, we could do Wales then ![]()  Cheers Jim, i will actually swap that over and keep the current one spare, will match the new clutch springs i buy.. 850 Destruction - SeizedBalt - 30-07-2020 That looks impressive! What a great looking bike!  Reminds me of mine, but that was silver! Was that long long slog worth it? I'm guessing yes. I guess you did it as much for the challenge and experience as the end result.  Either way, hat's off to you: even with the requisite knowledge I doubt I'd have had the patience to carry on. I might have had to rely on my abundant stubbornness but if you tap into that, it's usually not fun anymore! 850 Destruction - dablik - 30-07-2020 Well it's been extremely frustrating and many a time i wanted to throw in the towel, that's largely due to circumstances ie outside, but it's actually my stubbornness that saw me through, not managed to feel like it was all worth it yet, until it's been on the road for a few miles but certainly hope so....  Currently trying to insure for an agreed value but the costs of that are making my eyes water and i have to wonder if it's worth it at all, everything about it is pissin me off to be honest...  Hey ho i suppose my stubbornness will kick in again.. 850 Destruction - dapleb - 30-07-2020 Has it got a shed to live in dabs? 850 Destruction - Studley Ramrod - 30-07-2020 It's a lot of work to take on, esp. as you don't have a garage or shed. I reckon most peeps would be feeling the same matey. BUT, you get to say you did all the work yourself and didn't farm it all out. :good:  Have you tried classic insurance ? 850 Destruction - dablik - 30-07-2020 Quote:Has it got a shed to live in dabs? No daps, i decided against it some years ago as not to attract attention, you would'nt know it was there just now unless you climbed over the fence, in the past i've seen off a few scally's and they aint been around for a long time, plus the area has improved with new builds behind us so i will consider it for the future, to skint right now though.. 850 Destruction - dablik - 30-07-2020 Quote:It's a lot of work to take on, esp. as you don't have a garage or shed. I reckon most peeps would be feeling the same matey. BUT, you get to say you did all the work yourself and didn't farm it all out. :good: Yea cheers Studs i know matey, it's a bit depressing after all that with the insurance shenanigans, it's not straight forward at all and feels like they want to shove big vegetables up me arse, if i want agreed value i'll really be paying through the nose for it, a big part of that is the fact it's an import and a previous cat-c, those problems seem to become larger for an agreed value, Bike sure have mentioned an engineers report, they can sling a hook.. tried one classic insurer,RH up to know but depending on ewho the underwriter is will define what age is a classic, i'll crack on but if it's to much wonga i'll have to go for current market value and tempt to fate or else ride like a granny for 10 years ![]() 850 Destruction - Studley Ramrod - 30-07-2020 I took a huge hit when my silver mk1 was stolen and torched, I just had standard fully comp. That said, I spent way more on the bike than what it was actually worth so wasn't expecting to recoup my total outlay anyhoo. I still got a decent payout, compared to values of mk1's at the time. I guess at the end of the day, you allus knew you'd be spending more on it than what it'd be worth. Mk1 sellers are upping their prices recently though so ya might get insurance cover for a good percentage and if the worst thing happens, you have a few good examples of similar mk1's for sale to show the insurers and help get a decent payout. 850 Destruction - dablik - 30-07-2020 I had also noticed a slight improvement on mk1 prices and your right i knew i would be spending more than the bikes worth hence it being a keeper, i may end up changing tactics eh, spose it depends what i'm willing to pay at the end of the day... |
