What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - drewpy - 12-06-2021 went to Kais Performance in Atherton today. Going to get them to set up my suspension as the front and rear are def mismatched. He said my static sag  is too much. they have ordered some Hagon springs to match the rear hagon. What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - fixitsan - 12-06-2021 Quote:  It does, and importantly it's manufactured to much better tolerances than any fork oil is, in terms of viscosity measured in centistrokes. It isn't as negatively affected by temperature changes like fork oil often is, which is noticeably 'harder' when very cold. What I'm actually thinking of doing is only doing one fork leg with 30W and leaving ATF in the other. The 30W will provide the high speed damping control missing from the ATF or fork oil, to the level I'm looking for anyway....hopefully that translates into less immediate diving when you squeze the front brake, while still keeping some suppleness for the not too bumpy bits. I only thought of doing one leg after having my KTM, where the damper in one leg controls compression while the other fork controls rebound, so obviously, having some differences between fork legs isn't necessarily dangerous What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - butcher650 - 12-06-2021 Drained the oil in prep for replacing my clutch plates tomorrow, and got the new friction plates soaking. What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - dandywarhol - 13-06-2021 Quote: Outside the box thinking! A fork brace would compliment the conversion - good thinking Batman! What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - fixitsan - 13-06-2021 Quote: It is a thought......I actually thought of finding one of the lower fork yokes with the cranked ends, which grip the stanchion nearly 2 inches lower down What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - fixitsan - 13-06-2021 Following on with the mixed fork oil experiment....  Left leg - 30W fork oil, adjuster at position 3 Right leg - ATF (Dexron) adjuster at position 2  Definitely have an improvement, with my fully loaded 18 stone and a full tank of fuel. There's a noticeable improvement of front end rebound control . Previously I could tell my weight was crushing the spring more, such that when I released the brakes the front popped up very rapidly. Now I guess it's the 30W leg providing more of that rebound damping. There's less bouncing with the on/off braking transition, and the same with the throttle on/off effect  The front feels like it's working with the rear now, instead of feeling independent, and dropping down into shallow dips doesn't feel as bouncy as before.  EDIT - better settings for my weight - 30W leg at 2 clicks and ATF leg at 3 clicks. Nice and smooth over most types of bumos, doesn't dive excessively and still rebounds more slowly than before What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - dandywarhol - 14-06-2021 Quote: Spoken like a true 900 rider :pimp:  Just shows how pish the fork design is when you don't feel much difference in compression damping between ATF and ATF/30W combo.................. What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - fixitsan - 14-06-2021 Quote: lol There is a difference though. ATF/ATF was okay, and I was tempted to go 30w/30w with adjusters set to minimum, but being a tight arse I thought just doing one leg might work, and it seems almost like the 30W leg is controlling a different dynamic to what the ATF leg does.....I don;t think a 30w/30w combo would be an improvement What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - dandywarhol - 14-06-2021 Quote:lol No, I think you're right - what I was meaning was the inability of the crude compression holes to differentiate between ATF and straight (900 reference there) 30W, you'd expect to feel a difference What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - fixitsan - 14-06-2021 Quote:ÂJoke you might, but I can't tell you how glad I was a couple of weeks ago when an old pal came to visit and wanted to go pillion to the Glen Cafe. The only time Ive been there, with a bloke on the back, and there's nobody around to witness it :good: . In my defence he is losing his eyesight, and wants to pack in some experiences before it's gone completely.......it must have just been a big blur of colour, but he seemed to enjoy it....he probably liked being on the bike too :rotflmmfao: What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - fixitsan - 15-06-2021 Added another 100 miles, to take the total to 108,000 What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - leehenty - 16-06-2021 Fettling the Niner in preparation for the Cornwall ashes job, just the usual service and checks. Brother is on a z750, so he will have a sore bottom. What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - leehenty - 16-06-2021 Then cleaned and polished it up for hearse duty. This Muc Off stuff really works What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - butcher650 - 17-06-2021 I've used Muc Off stuff a couple times now, and I think it's awesome. What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - steve27bha - 17-06-2021 Took it for a trip across the water. First to Ayr then Ardrossan for the ferry to Arran. Quick buzz around the top to Lochranza for the 2nd ferry across to Kintyre and down most of the way to Campbeltown. Back home via Inveraray and the military road across to Loch Lomond and Stirling. Sun, calm seas, views, mostly good roads - luvverly day out - 304 miles.  Gave it a wash in thanks.  Shadow selfie and overhead of bike on ferry from Lochranza:-  [attachment=o14271] What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - Gdog - 18-06-2021 What the hell have you got in your jacket pocket? !!!! 𤣠What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - Trevini - 18-06-2021 Quote:What the hell have you got in your jacket pocket? !!!! ð¤£Heâs obviously just pleased to see the 900. :rotflmmfao: What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - Gdog - 18-06-2021 LOL !!
