Remembered to put the battery on charge - standard 12v charger on a timer switch gives 3x 10 minutes every day - enough to keep battery fully charged & stop furrycellulitis

Finished putting my 900 back together with a few new clips, a bit of paint brushed onto the luggage racks, cleaned and lubed the CSM, checked the nuts and bolts for tightness.

Going to try to get an MOT this weekend

MOT passed for another year.

The tester talked about 'not making them like they used to', when he compared the good condition of my bike with 106,000 miles, and a 2 year old MT-09 with rusty frame.

Looking forward to getting out on it now. I only did 10 miles today but the Samios remap, 15t front sprocket and full bore db killers to replace the old narrow outlet db killers all seem to be working well together Smile

Fills me with confidence. Haven't spotted any rust yet but the front brake is being a right pain.

Had what I thought was a buggered disc. Took it to work and clamped off the end calliper, dropped the bike in the rolling road and could see the a variation in the reading so order a new disc.

Once fitted the brake was still the same. Took the wheel to a machine shop to have the mating surfaces checked with no faults found so now I have the second disc to fit.

Should have looked into it when it was still in warranty but just kept thinking I'd got a bit of polish or something on there.

My 3vd rear wheel was similar. Knowing the previous owner ran it with a seized rear caliper until the disc glowed, I changed the disc and found it was still warped. Actually the wheel was warped due to heat exposure ! (suspect that won't be your fault !)

Had a decent ride of 70 miles or so. I had forgotten what riding a comfy bike was like, compared to the old KTM with bench seat.

Nice strong pull through all the revs, nice handling even on wet roads. Nice to be back on it again Smile

Looked for the reason it only ran on one cyl 2 weeks ago - emptied tank and float bowls. No water whatsoever - which is good as it means the new tank cap keeps water out - but means there is another reason for skipping one cyl...

It might be the tiny rust particles in carb bowls, cleaned them and the jets. It started right up, test drive today

I had a pair on my KTM 620. I thought they were outstanding in the wet (I heard some supermoto riders use them as their rain tyre)

I got 900 miles on the rear and about 1500 on the front, which I thought was awful, but then again I enjoyed every mile I did

It will be good to see how long it lasts on the heavier TDM

No luck, same problem....

It runs semidecently when cold, starts skipping severely after a coupla minutes.

Found out it actually runs good on high rpms, is that an indication I should investigate the coil? And if so, could I spot the fault by attaching a timing lamp? Assuming it fails on one cyl while revved at a standstill, I would maybe see tve failing spark pulse?

That's an excellent solution I reckon.

I was shopping in 'The Range' yesterday and found a 7-day timer for my Christmas lights, costing £3.99. A digital version was £6.99.

Rebuilt the front calipers, after the MOT tester noted they might not be releasing fully.

A full set of new seals and steel braided hoses fitted. All good now Smile
