Almost forgot how much Fun that is nearly 2 hours of scrapping knuckles before I finally

Pushed it 3/4 mile Home New Battery reading 6v :help:Â

So after fitting new battery last night starts bike this morning - sounds like something is running in back ground so rode to shopsÂ
 switched off ignition sounds like engine still turning over even with key removed - key back in switch ignition on = engine running
no starter button req  :dunno: switched off again and eventually engine stopped and battery down to 6v  :isurrender:
So Gentlemen - any ideas?Â

A defective starter relay, connecting starter permanently to battery? Effectively checked with removing one of the thick wires on the relay...

Had a very similar problem on my old mk1, the starter solenoid had stuck and caused the starter motor to run continually. Couldn't stop it running with the ignition or killswitch and it eventually flattened the battery and burnt out the starter motor. Also had to push the bike home.

That sounds exactly the same issue - Hopefully I haven't knackered the Starter motorÂ

Even though it was slightly Down hill I was still Sweating like a pig by the time I got home ( Sure the Bikes getting heavier as I get olderÂ

Did my first ever oil change all went well besides went out this morning notice bit oil keak so don't think I tightened the bolt to right spec or put wrong bolt in wrong order.i did check the oil nut at side of engine though so least it's working and oil is moving

got lucky phoned early afternoon and got in at 430
Lucky as well they are closing tomorrow until after Xmas
Hopefully we will get some dry weather over the next few weekends
Now Iâve finished my building work at home I might get out for a ride or 2

Think it was only my local MOT place he said they are usually busy in December so was taking his holidays that he was owed
As for the ride out will have to use it as a measure for my business

Stripped off the rear wheel. Axle was seized (despite using anti corrosion grease, but that was years ago and we get a lot of salt here !) . Rear disc bolts came out with lots of heat and patience. All bearings looking good but a couple of dust seals have cracks. New wavy rear disc and bolts coming.

The swingarm has a bit of play on it so that is coming out for inspection next.

Happy with the existing rear shock which was rebuilt a couple of years ago, but curious to try something else which performs better than standard

I appreciate the offer Steve. I've got a homemade doobrey I have used before but if I can't get the job done I'll probably give you a shout, thanks
