Quote:There are so many reports about certain types of imported short levers locking up front brakes, in a similar fashion to how you've described.

There are  a lot of links down this page https://www.gixxer.com/threads/brakes-locking-up-when-riding-new-levers-read-here-public-service-announcement.335452/

Mine was down to my own modification though so can't hold that against the chinese, I'll stick to holding the bat eating thing against them.

Took the Mk1 out for a ride first ride for me in 12 months, 320+ miles doing Round Britain Landmarks, bit stiff this morning is an understatement.

You're welcome. :good: Thanks for dropping off the pan ears and rack.

Nice to get out though Graham ?  Think I'd be struggling after doing a 320 mile ride. Lol

I'm on my second set of these type of Levers - guess I've been lucky with no issues

Had the shorty ones like Snowbird but prefer the longer style

What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today? - Snowbird - 10-06-2020

Have to admit I didn't notice mine were the short ones till I actually fitted them, I'd have prefered longer but I don't remember length being in the description.

I found Most of the adverts were for the short styles

The longer length harder to find

Personally I find the longer ones more comfortable

I saw mine yesterday for the first time since March!  It's parked in our work bike shed at the moment, which is covered but open fronted so it's looking even filthier than normal with a nice layer of sandy crud over the back end.

Now the shops are reopening I need to get a number plate made up for it and I really should start keeping an eye on ebay for euro spec headlights.  Bizarrely motorbikes don't need an APK (MoT) in the Netherlands so I haven't got round to sorting the headlight yet, and most of my tools are in storage anyway so might not be able to fit it if I get one.

Neither do they in Norway Tongue

There was some initiative here ~10 years ago to establish MOT for bikes, but I believe the reason it wasn't done is reports clearly saying that there is little gained security wise as motorbike owners usually keep their vehicles in good shape.

Generally true in the UK keeping bike in shape but we live in a Big Brother Utopia..arses.

Washed, leathered, FS365'd and put back in the shed - probably until Tuesday when taking pal Bill to collect his umpteenth HD (swapping out HD Electraglide Classic for an Electraglide Ultra Classic Low). I shall be adding a hundred miles or so to his new one cos he'll let me and cos I like em - they make me grin.

Probably a fair point, but I have seen some commuter 125's in a shocking state.

Identifed a potential rust problem. Whilst poking about I saw what looked like rust on the metal pipe connecting the water pump to the elbow on the cylinder head. Poking a small mirror in shows definite corrosion on the side facing the engine.

I thought oh I'll just replace that then. Nearly £12 at Fowlers plus O rings for a bit of squashed steel ! And on back order no stock.

Looking through my box of bits I got an old one more corroded than mine so measured up and made myself one in 316.

Pushed it into the garage to get it off the driveway, now Len's old bike has a new home.

I can start fettling it up now.

Although I'm still besotted with the little KTM I'm going to get the TDM up to scratch and do some long comfortable runs on it hopefully

As I was saying to Calum (new member Magpie) I can't see anyone wanting to buy it with 106,000 miles, so I'll keep it, care for it, and get them miles up Smile

Very nice Lee, I think it may be a case of please form a queue gentlemen :good:

Well I thought I would highlight it, so you can all get to giving it a brush with ACF50. Takes quite a time to make one from solid bar. I was hopeful a 22mm copper fitting would work but it's a funny size.
